"(Oh, how long I've waited to wear this dress!)" Mazda thought as she was all smiles on her first day, finally becoming old enough to take on a part time job at the same maid cafe where she fell in love with the uniforms when she first saw them as a child.

"Look alive, little sister," Sephira called from where she and Elica had been seated and could still see her. "You've got more customers coming."

"I gotcha," Mazda snapped back to reality and awaited their arrival.

"Please do not disturb our maids while they're working," Kitsuki, who had taken over as manager, gave Sephira a playful scolding and a wink.

"They're as strict as ever when it comes to the customers treating the maids well," Sephira chuckled a bit.

"You did almost nothing but complain every day when you had to work here, and yet you couldn't wait to get here today, Sephira," Elica shot her a smile.

"Well, I owed one to Mazda," she explained. "She was my first customer, so I kind of wanted to pay that back when I found out she'd applied here."

"Something you've been planning for a long time, I imagine," Elica's smile grew just a little bit on one side to tease her too.

"You'd have to drag me back here kicking and screaming otherwise," Sephira admitted.

"Welcome, my ladies," Mazda continued her unbroken smile as she greeted her mother and grandmother. "Please, follow me right this way~"

"Oi, Lex," Chevelle adjusted her glasses, "I told you to pause that silly video game sooner. Now we missed our chance to be Mazda's first customers."

"Her first day isn't ending any time soon, Mom," Alexus placed her hands on her hips. "Besides, you aren't allowed to take photos of her in uniform to send to your friends."

"That puts a damper on showing 'er to all of my friends, it does. I supposed I'll just 'ave to treat them to a meal here so they can see my lovely grandchild 'ard at work, I will."

"You know, Ma, you never bragged about me to all of your friends like that."

"A daughter is one thing, a granddaughter is another. You'll be pressing 'er to have children of 'er own before you know it."

"Those two never change, either," Sephira observed as the two passed by. "Does your mother ever press for you or Alice to have kids, Elica?"

"We are youkai, so we don't bear children the same way humans do. Though, once I fully inherit Mother's powers, I'll be able to create new lives within Makai. However, I am still most honored that your child will carry my name."

Sephira looked down at her own baby belly, "Another month or so. I was so happy to learn it's going to be a girl."

"And you're sure your doctor is fine with you eating the things they serve here, 'Mommy?'" Dyne placed a hand on Sephira's shoulder.

"Dad?!" Sephira looked back, "What are you doing here?"

"Good afternoon, owner," Kitsuki greeted professionally. "Everything's going well so far today."

"Owner?!" Sephira's eyes widened. "Dad, since when?!"

"A bit longer than you may think, Hon," he winked.

"You and I are going to have a long talk, later, then." she huffed as one of the other maids approached their table.

"Good afternoon, my ladies," Ayu greeted and handed them their menus. "I'll be taking your orders when you're ready."

"What a surprise, Ayu," Elica returned her greeting. "Neither of us knew you were also working here."

"The owner and Miss Kitsuki were a great help in training me how to do most of the same tasks the regular maids do, even if I can't see," Ayu explained. "And, as Chimu counts as a service animal, he can still serve as my eyes."

"Chii~!" the rabbit atop her head chirped proudly.

"Well, we're in your care," Sephira said as Mazda returned to the front to seat the next customer.

"(There's my girl!)" a happy Alondra thought as she looked over the heads of everyone in front of her to get to see Ayu doing just fine.
