I speechless and stunned by it's beauty almost made me cry, Almost. Hard thing for someone to invoke an emotional response from me with art. Be proud of your work and talent and thank you for sharing it with us.

using this picture... could you come up with a design, for a creature that is mostly like those tiny lizard dinos on the one Jurassic park movie, only smaller, here's a link jurassicpark.wikia.com/wiki/Coβ¦
but also part critters & part vicious rats? Rats are usually cute, but this creature has more teeth and is more likely to have you for dinner.
Figured these would be reddish, but didn't go farther...
It would also be awesome to see one of these with a few young... just a thought. Mostly cause I can't see the face of this one...

Small swarming predator with a rat-like appearance, lots of teeth, red skin and perhaps a bit of compsognathus features...
and you want it for an environment like this one? I think I could do that. I'd need more information about their role in the world though. Just so I know I'm imagining the same creature you are.

Sorry not to get back sooner... have been dealing with both financial and health issues in the family.
The role is to eat, scavenge and breed. They are the clean up detail on the planet. They hunt in packs of 15-20 and most times only take down medium size prey, about the size of a pony, sheep or goat.
But to take down a group, something that's agile and smart... then they send out a call that brings others running. No need to fight over food if you work together to bring down something larger.
The idea was to find a visual for a problem that characters in my story are having to deal with... the large cat-like creatures are deadly to these in fair number. The felines are very watchful over their young though since these pack rats would try to attack a cub or two when Mother's off hunting.
Haven't been working on the story for a while, real life has a tenancy to interrupt the creative process. Once things settle down I may get a chance to get back to work on it.
Thanks for the reply to my post.

this creature, did you give it a name? I'd love to use this scene in a fanfiction I'm collaborating with another - but if there is a name you'd want used for this, let me know. This image was very inspiring and a great fit to the story...

This is gorgeous.Β
I've always been a fan of both SCI FIΒ and nature. Yours combines both.
You've gotten me very curious about this planet and I want to see more of it!
Another thing I like is the textures; it feels very realistic.
GOD bless

Very nice. It's quite awe inspiring. Deffinatly an alien world but it feels very..."earthy"... If that makes any sense

Nice work!! Indeed, alien plants need not be green- they could be purple, red, black, or some other color if they use a some other molecule than chlorophyll. It's nice to see a different color from green. Eyeless predators, however, are unlikely on planets where with enough light to see with- eyes just evolve far to easily, and confer far to much of an advantage over eyeless animals, for such organs not to prove fairly universal on Earth-type planets. Earth animals who use senses other than sight use them in conjunction with their eyes, not instead of, after all. That said, this creature's head looks admirably alien due to the exclusion of recognizable eyes. The vegetation and surrounding landscape is wonderfully alien, as is the bluish sun. Truly, this is a beautiful and otherworldly painting- it captures a real sense of the wonders of space and alien planets.
P.S. This slightly reminds me of the opening chapters of A.E. Van Vogt's The Voyage of the Space Beagle, in which the cat-like intelligent Coeurl desperately searches for the trail of the "Id creatures" he had been hunting, just before the Space Beagle descends from the sky- bringing a whole crew of humans from him to stalk. I keep waiting for an ungainly star vessel to come hurtling out of the sky and descend somewhere over the horizon...
