Description Oh, Finn. You silly obvious boy.

SO
This is Finn, and he lives in Belfast, Ireland, and he helps build airships and... YEAH.
Those goggles? Totally verified by history.
[link] Look at that guy on the left.

He is from a project that I am working on. Sort of. meaning I have a concept and a page or two of writing.

Ack, why do you tease me with fabulous character designs and the promise of an interesting story? I seriously look foward to seeing how this project turns out.

I must also read your NaNoWriMo entry at some point, seeing as i never got mine off the ground D: I didn't get any decent idea's and kept wanting to change it and start over all the time.

The concept itself sounds quite interesting, actually, doubly so because you seem to be going for something that is period-accurate, rather then pure Steampunk. I don't have a problem with Steampunk or anything, i just don't have a huge interest in it- i'm more of an 'Ultramodern' sort of guy- and it's so often done that period-accurate pieces tend to be a bit overshadowed.

A retelling of the Titanic in an airship. I love the sound of that. May I suggest you read a book called Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan. [link] Written in 1898 it told the story of a boat called the Titan that sank on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic. Basically inadvertantly fortelling of the wreck of the Titanic 14 years before the even took place. I'm not really sure why I'm suggesting it though. I think it might be able to help you figure what kind of story you might want to tell.

I too am very jealous of your art skills as I have absolutely none. And I'm jealous of your work ethic and writing skills.

I hope to see more of this project in the future.

P.S: Your period accurate clothing is astounding!

Thanks! When I initially thought of it, I rejected the idea really quickly, but it's grown on me. I have the beginnings of a plot for what goes on between all the characters and such, so I'm pretty excited now.
Wow, that is so cool! I've been meaning to go to the library, actually, so I'll pick that up if they have it there tomorrow. I think you're right-- it seems like it could help me out somehow. And even if not, definitely sounds like a worthwhile read!

Aw man, thank you...

I hope so too. I'd love to just... see something through to its end for once.

PS: Really? Thanks! That's so great to hear, because I wasn't too sure about this or anything.

If they don't have it at the library I'm almost certain the entire text can be found online. I remember reading it as a kid because I had a titanic obsession with the Titanic. Robert Ballard was my personal hero. I pretty much devoured anything I could on the subject. INcluding stuff about the sister ships and the mysterious ship that didn't reply to the distress call.

And I know what you mean about seeing something to the end. I start so many ideas and never finish and it makes me feel like such a spazz. I think I might put a journal up with the remnants of my failed NaNo attempt this year. And then have a viking funeral for the event because I honestly think I'm just a script frenzy kid from now on.

Ahhhh, this is so cool! I love his outfit, especially the welding goggles, oh man. If I had the money I'd totally buy a pair. Also his jacket is pretty damn spiffy too. Your project sounds really neat too, though with the mention of airships and the picture you gave all I can think of is an airship-'Titanic'. Fun Stuff. Looking forward to seeing more o this!

Oh man, thanks! Same here; I wish I had some like that. They would be the coolest things ever and I would wear them all the time, ha.
I hope I can actually get somewhere with this thing, because I'm really pretty excited for it, and I want to the point where I get to tell this story to everyone! C:

Actually, after a quick search apparently the things only cost about $10...and I'm betting most hardware stores would carry them. Not antique, but still awesome.

Well, definitely go for it! You're definitely good at getting stuff moving, so I'll look forward to this when it gets wherever it's going.

Oh, woah, really? Hmm! That's way less than I thought. Way less. Thoughts of buying them are forming here.
My brother has a pair of goggles he got online, but they're not really like this. And they cost more than that, anyway.

Hey, thanks for the support! We shall see where things go from here...
I can't wait for NaNo to end, honestly, so I can get going with the projects I actually like...

I know. Oh man, that reminds me though, I was at this antique place a couple weeks back and they had a booth full of Russian stuff, including WWII infantry goggles and a cold-war era space helmet. The fact that all the stuff was cheap made having no money even worse. Anyways, rambling aside, you would've loved the place.

Definitely. And if you ever need any historic Ireland info or anything for it I'd be glad to help(but the internet is probably more helpful). And I still feel bad about not doing NaNo, but I've had an essay, three presentations, and a massive art project. Might just write for fun instead, but it won't be the same. How's yours coming? The excerpt sounded awesome and all your pictures were great too...

This is turning into a text wall, I'll stop.

Ahh, that sounds so neat! Goggles, space helmet, god. I bet it was amazing; you're lucky to have been there, though not having money must have been awful. I hate when that happens... but I'm not going to say anything more about that lest I make it worse or anything.

You could definitely help out with like.. scenery type questions too... where in Ireland have you been, if I might ask?
It's alright-- there's always next year or the years after. It's totally understandable, anyway, and honestly I don't know why I do it every year. It just makes school that much harder, plus this year I'm so obsessed with art too...
Speaking of which. Massive art project, you say?
ANyway, it's not that great.. I had a whole plot planned, but things went way off the rail and now I'm just trying to see if I can stretch this one scene I'm writing now to the 50k mark.
Text walls are fine-- almost makes up for all those messages I forgot about in my RP hiatus. D:

There were also officer caps and top hats and action figures and retro posters and action figures and vinyl records and I think I need to go back. With hundreds of dollars.

Ahh, Ireland's an easy one for scenery because it looks mostly the same throughout. But I've basically been through a strip stretching from the south-east coast to the north/north-east. Never been IN Belfast, but been close enough to know what it's like.Yeah, I think I should try writing outside of NaNo to gauge how much/fast I can write before it comes around again. I'm kid of the opposite, unfortunately when it comes to art. I haven't touched clay in about a month, school's taking over.

The art project was this big shaded perspective drawing of a hallway in our school that I procrastinated on, ugh. Nothing interesting, unfortunately.

But that sounds cool, though! The nice thing about superheroes is that you can do all kinds of crazy stuff with them. It's probably easier than stretching a love story that long, at the very least. Don't worry about the RP chats though, it was my fault for starting like five of them, ha.
