Generally he got caught doing something he shouldn't be doing, and he is unsuccessfully trying to find some arguments to explain why it wasn't THAT bad. He is looking down because of uncertainty and feeling guilty, and at the end he was supposed to look at the person who caught him and make sort of 'ah, whatever, but let's forget about it, I'm just harmless old guy, ahaha, okay? please?' face. If you know what I mean.

I see what you mean; that's really good idea, I think it would make this much more dynamic, and it would add this 'you see, it was all because of... um... no? are you sure? okay, you're right, but give me just one more minute' expression to it. Actually, there should be generally much more eye movement in here, now that I look at it, to show his nervous thinking. I'm afraid I don't have the access to the drawings now, so I can't really fix this, but it's very useful to know that in the future and it's really nice to get some criticism, so thank you.

The gif at [link] is a little slower, and I like timing there more... once it fully loads. It can be 'never' in some cases, yes. That's why I submitted again actually the same thing in different format.
