Hm... I canΒ΄t count how often my Laptop already flew of my table o.O And that thing is also still still working xDDD But there was a time were i thought I lost it... It took a glas water with it and got really wet. Every time i turned it on, the Screen just got plain white. But then... Let it alone some days, magic happens and it worked again xDDD

Reminds me of my Gameboy Color. As a child i had dropped it so many times there were bery obvious dents and dings. Mostly around the bottom left corner. And yet years later after having rediscovered it, the freakin thing still worked! Despite it all. Things were much more durable =w=

I know I'm late to post by like who knows how long, but on the topic of tough Nintendo products, my mother moved the table while I was playing the Wii and accidentally hit the Wii Mote REALLY hard. The controller's case hadn't a single scratch, though the button on the back (B button I think) had gotten mashed so hard that now, if you want to press it, you barely have to put your finger on it. Other than that, not a single scratch.
Also mother's cat kept asking for her attention one time while she was playing, and when mother wasn't looking, the cat jumped onto the couch behind her and she brought the controller back really hard and hit the damned cat in the nose with a smack! The cat was seemingly unharmed, but she wouldn't come out of hiding for twice as long as normal.

so i have like that same story only mine fell dozens of times, was brutly attacted by my younger bro as he pounded the styles into the srean because the nintendog was being "bad" and my bro ran over it with a go cart. it lived with a few lower screen calibration issues due to the "dog" and that this was the 1st ds lite. it died and said it final goodbyes on my birthday because i dropped it while i was sleeping the night before. those things are heavy duty. sorry to hear about yours and maybe you have a new one but yeah. felt like sharing my story on this subject. love ur work btw

Nintendo: Legacy of the Living Handhelds since Nineteen ninety-six. I mean, come on, if an original Game Boy is going to survive a nuclear explosion, I think a DS is going to live a couple jabs.
...Marth on New Year's Eve? I haven't heard that one.

Mine once slipped out of my coat pocket while I ran and it's fell on concrete in water and ended with just 2 scratches. DSs are fighters. XD

My touch screen barely works, but that's probably because it's a First Generation model and not a newer regular DS.

Same sort of thing happened to my old first gen DS. I've dropped it, throw it, and I'm pretty sure the dog tried to eat it, but she still runs (though the top screen isn't fully connected to the bottom part now). My new DS lite on the other hand had one bad run in with a puddle and died.

Nintendo things always made from a super tough thing! When my DS accidently dropped, land on the floor with a "bump" sound, kicked by someone, and my DS acting like nothing happened!

Nintendo always makes the most durable systems of each generation, there's a theory that it's because many of it's gamers are little kids and I guess they assume kids play baseball with their systems. O.o I love the how tough it is! Way outlasts the other systems for playability. <3

Your name is Katie too? Awesome. I had the exact same problem with my DSi... My dog tripped over the charges cord and it went flying and hit the wall next to me. Good thing I caught it as it fell, or i'd need lots more money... TTOTT;

I remember dropping a PSP because of the dang charger as well. Only thing that broke when it dropped was the Disc reader, and the overall appearence looked the same as well, as if nothing has happened. Now that I got my PSP fixed the disc reqader works perfectly and now the screen no longer has any dead pixels, and now I feel as if I'm grateful I dropped it....... o-o

But it has happened to my brother. Twice.
So I guess he took the heat for me. Hopefully this isn't one of those Final Destination scenarios.

Why can't you guys accept that some people are anti-karmatic and jinx-free? (In certain instances, anyway.)
Never dropped my Game Boy
Never dropped Advance
Never dropped the DSi

I've had something similar to this happen to me.
Except my DS didn't knock itself against a lot of objects, it just fell flat on the floor. CONCRETE floor. Poor thing's touch screen cracked, and I swear the crack got larger.
I can still play it, but I'm afraid to even take it out of my drawer anymore, fearing for the remainder of its life >3>

nintendo builds things to last. Prime Example: i stacked the entire encyclopedia of my GBA SP (golden version with the triforce on it ^^)why i will never know, and then i sat on the books. when i got off, i looked under and there was nothing wrong. GOD, what are they made of??
(no, you cannot have my shiny triforce GBA. limited edition, cost me 500 freakin dollars.)

I feel your pain. I accidentally messed up my DS too. Now the 'L' button doesn't work.
...So I can't play any games that use L as one of their main controls.
But sheeze, a whole screen out of commission? That's got to be at least 100 times worse. I'd totally, try to help you out, if I weren't broke.

Heh, the original DS is a tough little thing. I've dropped mine on the road countless times, dropped it on cement, and it still works. The bottom screen's just badly scratched in the middle. As for my sisters' DS Lites, one was dropped on the carpet ONCE and it stopped working. And they keep freezing. I prefer my DS, myself.
