With all the hub bub going on with Derpy I decided to throw my two cents in on it:

I'm fine with the edit done to her. It's not bad at all and quite frankly if it was done the first time around every one else would have been fine as well. It's not as good as her old self but it isn't bad.

I am displeased with all the parent flipping out, I mean come one! Was Ed an insult to the mentally handicapped? No! He was a lovable oaf who had immense kindness and creativity, like Derpy. However, I can understand it and I think it's all in the name: Derpy does sound like a derogatory term for the mentally handicapped, even before I became a fan of the show and I heard that her name was Derpy I thought "Derpy? Isn't that a negative term for the mentally handicapped? That's not cool, that's not coll at all!" But I got to know her character and now know that she isn't offensive at all. if it weren't for her name everyone probably would have been fine, Hell let's just call her Ditzy Doo from now on... well on the show at least, I mean that doesn't sound offensive right? Hell, they could make a whole episode about her that would put her in a better light with those who don't know her. And hey we can still call her Derpy, right? nothing would really change. So yeah, I'm upset that people are getting mad over nothing but it's no reason for the rest of us to flip out as well. Like a wise extra terrestrial once said: [link]

Also, the sub caption is from Married with Children. if you get it then congrats your awesome in my book! If not, just look it up it won't take that long to find the answer.
