Description As you all know, the remake to True Grit comes out tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited. I've never seen the original but it still looks like a great movie. However I can guarantee that at least one critic will call it "The greatest Western film since Unforgiven." That really annoys me. Let me take you all back to a magical time called 2008. That year we got not one but two western films, 3:10 to Yuma which was a great movie and Appaloosa, which wasn't as good as Yuma but was still pretty good. But I can remember seeing commercials for both those movies and some critic called each the best western since Unforgiven, and trust me, we'll see stuff like that for True Grit in the coming days, mark my words. Now I've never seen Unforgiven so I can't make a judgment on whether 3:10 to Yuma, Appaloosa or True Grit are better, but they all can't be better, right?

Well if nothing else Jeff Bridges was way better than John Wayne.

the Unforgiven was the greatest western film in history, and the best Clint Eastwood film, only one movie can call itself better, and it is a movie that is so unbelievably good I can't even name it... Actually I can! The good, the bad, and the ugly! greatest movie ever!!!!

I have high hopes for this remake. It's made by the Coens, usually reliable directors. (Though from what I understand, not to your tastes. Still can't get into NCFOM?)

Oh no I really like the Coens. I love Barton Fink, I love Miller's Crossing, I love Raising Arizona and I like Fargo. But I just cannot get into NCFOM, I don't know why though. I've tried watching it more then once and everytime's the same. I think its just boring. It seems throughout that they say things instead of doing things and the whole is going along at a snails pace. I don't know, I could be missing something with it, I should try at least one more time before True Grit.

And yet you use a picture from the remake.
How inconsiderate.

Oh brother... I used the picture from the remake because I have a feeling that at least one critic will say its better then Unforgiven. That was the whole point. If I had intended to do a poster on the original then you would have seen John Wayne's Rooster rather then Jeff Bridges.

there's always gonna be that not-so experienced critic to call it "as good as Unforgiven" because Unforgiven took all the aspects of Westerns and made it into one good story with great driecting and acting from Clint Eastwood. It's a little generalized in today's media; that shows how inconsiderate film critics can be. Besides, when I watch Westerns in today's time, I never think Unforgiven, I always think earlier back like to the Spagetti Westerns...
