I think this is still my favorite desktop of all time, everything is perfect and low contrast light themes are so hard to pull off. I'll have to try making some similar notifications when i get back to my linux machine.

Don't you have trouble/incompatibilities with x64 programs running bblean skin?

Not when I have x64 bbLean installed, and this screenshot was taken with x86 Windows installed so I didn't have a problem there.

Even so, I don't think bbleanskin works along x64 programs like nightly. Maybe I'll give it a try again.

Is this boxbar? And what are the icons on the far left of the taskbar? Thanks!

Sorry, it is too adapted to my setup to be of much use to you, and it has changed since as well.

Windows 7 with cygwin running urxvt with ncmpcpp, weechat, and zsh; bbLean with boxbar, bbPager, and bbLeanBar, and bbInterface; a Lua script for the notifications that communicates with bbInterface. Colors are for the most part #CCCCCC #999999 and #FAFAFA

Thanks for the criticism guys, I appreciate it! Β Yeah, you're right about the contrast - while it doesn't bother me personally, I got comments on it everywhere I posted this. Β Actually, between posting this and taking the screenshot I "fixed" the contrast, but it didn't have quite the same effect. I think the low contrast adds to the desktop, just my opinion.

It isn't. The screen size is 1920x1080. So actually it must be "large" enough. Well, the contrast is (still) killing my eyes.

Sorry for the late reply, see my comment on nanu08's post. Β My next desktop will probably still be using the colors I changed to that have better contrast, just with Awesome WM and maybe some Windows Classic together.
