Description I didn't have internet (Or cable!) for almost two weeks, so I arted! Huzzah!

This is Katie Blackwood, she's a character in this thing Audrey, Aja and I are working on. The dog is her awesome mutt, Nicholas, and if you look really closely at her iphone you'll see a little picture of her boyfriend, Garrett Evans. (The little pic of him was drawn by Aja.) Phone time is super important to Katie on account of she lives (and goes to boarding school) in California, and Garrett lives in Chicago....and I think that's it!

Line Art was done in Adobe Illustrator and coloring was done in Adobe Photoshop.

Nice use of the Adobe programs. Trying to do line work like this would drive a lot of people insane.

And then my stupid remark. Isn't that the dog from All Dogs Go To Heaven? (Or a very similar likeness maybe)

Haha, doing any line work sorta drives me insane actually xD

That isn't a stupid remark! I actually used Charlie (the dog from All Dogs Go to Heaven) as a ref for Nick (the dog in this picture) then I realized that I'd used similar colors...I think I might change that.

Valid point on the line work. That's why I haven't done anything new in ages. Lots of sketches but no finished things.

And wow on me for saying stupid when I know I meant silly. But yeah, he is just a smidge to similar in coloring. But then again, dogs will be that way unless you go for some wild colors that don't occur naturally. So the question is, do you want people thinking that your characters dye their dogs fur or that there is just a strange coincidental likeness (that you will deny to avoid lawsuits, hehe)?

Haha, yeah I was the same way, just doodling and stuff, but then I was bored so this happened xD

Yeah, I was thinking that he looked a little too German Shepherdy 'cause in the thing we're writing he's a mix of a lot of different breeds. (Also, he's bigger than I made him in this picture.)
