Both my Paragon Shepard and my Renegade Shepard destroyed the Collector Base.
My Paragon did it because she didn't want that information in Cerberus's hands.
My Renegade did it because he wanted to troll The Illusive Man.

I was pretty freaking Paragon in my playthrough, but that line was too amazing.

Hey what if that base had turned out to be a Reaper? I mean why not? We all knew at the time was that Reapers were giant space ships, so why not space stations?
Of course now that Bio Ware "BEEPED" the whole thing with Labyrinth pack we know that would be impossible, yet it is still an interesting thought.

My base was messed up. I wanted to keep it but the moment Thane went all holy on me with his "I spent my life fighting bad guys blabla" line I just automatically went "Yes Thane... anything for you Thane..." and blew it up.

Haha, I kept the base. I thought it could be useful, and I respected the Illusive Man's pragmatic semi-evilness... I also like Miranda's personality... Am I evil lol? (I was 3/4 Paragon... if that helps.)

From what I heard, choosing whether or not to destroy the collector base doesn't really affect anything in ME3. Even if you destroyed it, Cerberus apparently managed to "salvage" the technology they wanted. Don't know how I exactly I feel about that.
