So, the ladies have purple dresses-- but borrow a color from the men (Teal) for their hair things.The men are wearing teal vests, but borrow the ladies' color for the boutonniere.
...and silver is the unifying, underlying theme. Beautifully coordinated. What a clever bride my friend is. This is an excellent way to bring the color scheme together, don't you think? And it's also easier for the artist (me. Hehe.) to not have to match the dresses exactly, which is good, because I'm sort of living across the Pacific from her...

Yup, the colors look nice together! The girls have purple dresses and teal hair pins (I think), and the boys have teal vests and purple boutonnieres. *looking forward to seeing the party wearing them...*

Yeah, I think a bouquet might have worn both sets of hands to bloody stumps.
Red/gold, Green/silver, etc. Really, anything goes good with gold and silver. The metallic paint just makes it work.

These were fun to design, really. I don't get asked to do boutonnieres that often. So thinking about it and sewing all the finished parts together is kind of interesting. ^_^ Though it takes forever.
