Editor's Notes
Thanks to everyone for the wonderful suggestions! Please note that some artists don't like their work disseminated, so if you suggested something to us and don't see it here, that might be the case.
Also, I apologize for skipping last month. It might seem like it's an easy thing -- going through groups and picking artwork to feature -- but it's actually quite difficult, especially when you follow so many breeds and groups (some of which quickly escalate into 100s of submissions a day). I do my best to feature different artists and styles of artwork each month, and it takes a long time to go through each and every group I'm a part of. That is why I rely on you, our loyal readers, to bring different artists, artwork, and groups to my attention. And while I do have more free time than most, the help ... well, helps!
Thanks again!

Headlines The going-ons of the HaRPG world.
Do you enjoy quests? Do you like RPGs that have a definitive beginning and end? For its third year, Summer Voyager will be going island-hopping. Mysterious islands have appeared in the sea and it's your job to investigate these strange new places and bring the information back to the mainland. So, bring your horse, bring a companion animal, and most importantly, bring yourself! What you find may very well alter the course of the story going forward.
Have a storyline or roleplay you want featured here? Or maybe an epic idea for fellow players? Or some juicy info on whatever? Send us at HARPG-Newsletter a Note titled Headlines with the links to the art, stories or journals and we'll see about getting it up!
Accalia's Corner Ramblings of horse trivia.

If you have some horsey trivia you'd like to share, send a note to the group or AccaliaRose to become a guest writer in Accalia's Corner next month!
Art-RPG Featurette: written by shekeira
This month we feature the Konjska with Arborath !
1. Tell us about the breed. What is the story behind its creation?
I created Konjska mainly for my own interest and fun then it became popular with my close friends and then others started picking at it wanting a horse or two.
2. There are many player-made groups out there. What about your breed makes it different from the rest?
Now a days everything is inspired form something. So nothing is really unique, however I run it more like a RPG rather then HARPG. There are quests rather than shows with in the actual group. Along with Prompts that focus more on character development rather then XP points and leveling up rank etc. Of course anyone can use their Konjska for regular HARPG shows etc! The characters are free for anyone to use for what they wish. Regular RP, ARPG, an ornament on a digital shelf to show off, haha!
3. Everyone loves mutations! Tell us about your favorite and the story behind its creation. What does your group like the best?
Konjska have a marking called Clouded Tobiano. Basically take any white tobano mark and make it clouded like the clouds in the sky. The marking can come in ranges of color from white, blues, purples and slight teals. As well as a faded mix of the colors. I just loved how it came out on the first horse i created as an experiment and it just stuck.
4. What sort of activities can members expect from your group?
The group is small at the moment so events are rather small. However we have seasonal events and foal auctions going off for each one. Each season we are introducing seasonal deities that each have quests to complete to gain certain traits and items to add to your horse.
We are also adding in a crafting and item system to compliment the quests.
5. What would you like to say to people who are considering joining your breed?
No pressure! There are no time limits unless its a seasonal event! We don't care about skill level. Art isn't even necessary for any group even as we accept literature as well! I've actually added more incentives to our literature side of the skill sets for each Konjska so writers have more variety they can look forward to.

With an increasing number of Faimés being owned across all the continents the world, the King of Seychelles has decided he would like to host a competition that will bring the very best of his breed back home... it is time to host a competition. So the 2019 Faimé of the Year Show (FOYS) has been assembled. He wants to see all the builds of his magnificent breed (drafts, sport horses, ponys and mini's) come together and compete against one another, establishing relationships between breeders/owners, and offering an opportunity for every Faimé to have a chance to shine.
This year the Royal Family will be hosting a quarterly event - whose Winter, Spring & Summer entrants will qualify for a year-end Fall finale show.
So, come one & come all (Faimés) to enter the: FOYS 2019 Spring Qualifiers

Interview featuring Arborath Edited by shekeira
1. Introduce yourself and your stables to the Newsletter; what’s your name and what got you started in horses?
- I am Arborath and I own and run both Iron Hills and Nuxvar Equestrian Centers. Nuxvar is newer though. I oddly got started with Harlequines (group name O-H-S ) in early 2000s. I got my First HARPG horse Riffle Fire, a harlequine just because i liked how he looked, haha! Back then i had no concept of HARPG he was just a pretty horse character to me. Years later i think about a year or two ago a former friend of mine nearly shoved me into the actual world of HARPG. that's when I realized what Harlequines were and it just kind of stuck with me and I've been collecting sense! Mainly focused on Harlequines, Arabians, and Hanoverian, but i have a few others in there that I have fun with as well.
2. What inspired you to join the HARPG community?
Honestly it gives me incentive and reason to do art of my character. Im not too competitive but i like improving both my art and the status of my horses. Even though they are just pixels
3. What are your stables about? What does your staff (if any) entail? What horse breeds does your stable work with and why?
Iron hills is a Dressage Stable though there are a few eventing and jumpers. There are mainly Warmbloods and my own personal breed Atsatos. Which are a warmblood build. Lucern is the owner and main trainer. His younger sister is head groom and caretaker. Jake is a student of Lucern's but sides as a groom to pay for his board and lessons. They are open for more staff for Role play purposes etc.
Nuxvar is 100% Harlequine! Mainly halter horses and beauty focused! Nuxvar is open to other Harlequines other then my own as well as it is a Role Play and Event center for the Harlequine breed.
4. If you could bring one of your horses to life, who would it be and why?
Oh that's an easy one! Shooter! (Every single day) He has been on your foal orbit once and is my main horse for almost all dressage events! He is a Georgian Grande (Friesian Saddlebred Gypsy Vanner) three of my top personal faves as well as the color bay with white accents! Bay is my weakness! His personality is basically like a Labrador dog. A bit goofy with a working focused side.
5. What piece of your personal art are you most proud of? (It doesn't have to be the one with the most favorites or comments.)
:thumb783107179:
I honestly love this one! No idea why. It was the start of my realism practice based off a friend's horse reference.
6. Do you have a favorite discipline to draw? If so, what is it?
Dressage 100%. I ride Dressage mainly in the non-pixel real horse world. I just love the look and the elegance of it.
7. What do you enjoy most about being a traditional/digital artist? The least?
I used to be traditional but it got to be a pain paying for the supplies that run out so fast and the limitations in colors and techniques if you don't have all of the materials. So I turned to digital which I have found a lot more free with colors and techniques you can use. You need a computer and a tablet and that's it. May be more expensive at first but I've found it a lot more practical then buying up 50 or so colored pencils every other week!
8. If you were to redraw something from your past, what would it be and why?
I don't have it on my DA gallery but ill pop it in stash if you need it. It was a very old character/species concept that was awesome in theory but the actual drawing of the equine was, well, questionable to say the least!
9. What is the best piece of artistic advice someone has ever give you? And/Or, what sort of advice would you offer a budding artist?
NEVER compare yourself to other artists! We all have our own way of doing things, our own level of experience and amount of practice. Only compare yourself to yourself from the past!
Relax! Art comes as a flow not as a forced concept. It will show in the final product! Forced things are never pretty!
REFERENCES! If you don't know something use a reference! There is nothing wrong with using a reference when needed
I sadly had to learn all these things on my own, but once i took these things seriously things became allot easier and i was far more happy with what I came out with
10. What would you say to someone who was considering joining HARPG?
There is no harm in trying anything! If you don't like it you can leave any time. The nice thing about HARPG is there are so many options on how to do things and what to do.
