Description
In Shattered Faith, Beau-Père, the primary antagonist, is a strong marine, but he isn't without his problems. His sister, Belle-Mère, has been dead for years and he was deceived into believing she was still alive. He had no idea that the people of his home were oppressed by Arlong, his sister's killer. He feels that if he quit the marines, or at least got the chance to return to the East Blue, then he could've stopped Arlong, and maybe his sister would still be alive.

His hatred for Arlong is rooted deep in his soul, of course. He feels the need to atone, and believes the only way to do that is to keep Arlong in his cell. Combine the remorse he feels with a botched mission he had a few years ago, and he starts to question if his morality and services still matter. He even feels guilty over having to capture Monkey D. Luffy, the one who saved his home and recruited Nami, one of his sister's daughters. But, he hardens his heart, and moves to fulfill his orders, although he hopes that Luffy will flee or emerge victorious in their eventual fight. When it comes down to it, he'll refuse any act of mercy towards him as he goads the Straw Hats to either fight back or run away.

Since I'm taking so long to finish Chapter 9, here's a taste of Beau-Pére's character that will be seen in Chapter 10.

I drew the characters on paper and colored them on paper, but I used deviantart muro for the plain background, because I suck at drawing digitally. I also used it to make Belle-Mère like some kind of spirit, which is a cool effect, especially since she isn't alive anymore. What do you think?
