I must say though it was a very brave move on the writer's part. To kill such a strong and important character so early on. But I think that's what made it the amazing anime it was. No-one was safe!

Indeed. It was a bold move, as well as Light's death. Killing off a main character rarely happens, and to kill off two of them is almost unthinkable. I must say that Tsugumi Ohba is an overall fantastic writer.

I felt really sad at Light's death. I thought his final moments running from the police is the most emotional moment in anime history. Especially when he's running and sees his past self along the way, remembering everything he used to be before he picked up the Death Note.

I know, right? I think I cried a little at that part too... And in the end credits when Misa was all sad and stuff? I actually felt a little bad for her.

There was a very interesting theory I read about Misa.

Do you remember the song she sang whilst in the very same Lolita outfit as the end of the series? The song about how 'God' (Kira) is always watching you. Well some people believe that the song took place AFTER Light's death based on her dress in the last scene of the series being the same one. Which is exciting because we see that song played early in the series like 19th or 20th episode. So we may have gotten a glimpse into the future without realising it at the time.

HOWEVER

This theory was proven wrong since Misa was shown to have the Shinigami eyes in the song, but could not possibly have them since she relinquished ownership of the Death Note before the series end. Would have been a good theory though.

That would have been a good theory... I seriously cried at the end, when Misa was singing. I almost felt bad for her.

Yes I used a screenshot from on of the episodes and used it as a reference... I was pretty new at things back then hence the lack of lighting/shading
