Description I livestreamed most of the production of this piece today. I wanted to do a homage to Stanley Lau's Pepper - such an awesome character design.

Hopefully she looks awesome when shes finished!

Here is a link to a 15min timelapse [link] <- I hope its useful!!

So beautifully well done! Man, watching the time lapse video is blowing my mind, lol. I can feel my brain having to re-wire to keep up with all that you do. The sculpt is gorgeous, the paint is spot on! Everything seems so perfect, idk how it could be any better

Hi Hazardous once more, thanks a lot,

do you make a high and lowpoly or just a lowpoly?

do you bake any maps for your lowpoly texturing?

thumbs up.

HazardousArts In reply to bernardcc [2013-02-09 21:36:11 +0000 UTC]

For this character, only a high poly sculpt and polypaint. For other characters, sure i bake maps for my low poly

THIS work kept me from giving up on 3d thank you : D you're a great inspiration and I got new power to keep working on my modelingskills

did you use mudbox for the 'coloring' ? & was it 3ds max for the complete basik modeling?
sorry if those are stupid questions >_< I'm still a beginner and only worked with maya so far, but whenever it comes to texturing I could throw tables all the time haha. so I'm looking for alternatives and came across mudbox, haven't installed it yet thought

HazardousArts In reply to Berath [2012-10-26 21:51:48 +0000 UTC]

Wow thanks for the nice message, im glad i could motivate you to keep going on If you watch the video i linked, you can see im using zbrush for coloring. I use zbrush for most of the modelling but 3dsmax for some of it

Hey I just saw the timelapse -but the one that is 30 mins long- and since I'm trying to learn as much as possible and if you don't mind me asking: what did you use as the base mesh for the hair? Because I've always got problems with that. No matter if I use Zspheres or any of the basic geometry it's a pain to sculpt because of the topology, it just doesn't work. Yours on the other hand seems to fit perfectly and you don't get weird artifacts in the forehead for example, or near the ears. You can even mask some parts and kind of extrude the rest and it still looks good. Are you using dinamesh and I'm just not noticing?
I guess I don't need to mention how beautiful she is, specially the side view which I totally love and reminds me slightly of Audrey Tautou

HazardousArts In reply to Astral-Muffin [2012-10-19 00:33:49 +0000 UTC]

its a zsphere hehe not dynamesh, but if you run into problems, i suggest using dynamesh it will make your sculpting much easier.

Really? Yeah I'll try that
I think I never said it, but thanks so much for being so helpful. Most of the people who know that much don't have time to answer silly questions and yet you always do

Oh, of course, I just knew it. No matter where I go, always some of the most popular deviations are of women wearing whorish clothing-- or no clothing at all for that matter. WHY? What is happening to deviantART? Gah, I guess it's too late to prevent the plague from spreading. It's all over.
