Fluttershy's design for the "what if" story where Twilight Sparkle travels into an alternative and dark future.
A little warning. This concept involves my favorite pairings: Rainbow x Fluttershy, Pinkie x Twilight and Applejack x Rarity. Thou have been warned! XD

Here's the usual summary regarding the character's background:

When news about Twilight's disappearance reached Fluttershy she volunteered right away with Rainbow Dash to search for her friend along with the others, but Fluttershy's strength to accompany them fade away fast as she unexpectedly fell ill with high fever. Knowing that she would only slow the others down she decided to go back home but Rainbow Dash refused to let her go on her own and accompanied her.
As the two girls returned to Ponyville Fluttershy felt that she was getting worse but even so she did her best to hide it from Rainbow Dash, which didn't work, Rainbow always knew when she was lying.
Fluttershy recovered within a few weeks thanks to Rainbow Dash's constant care, and a couple of days after that Ponyville is unexpectedly attacked by Chrysalis' army.
Fluttershy was scared to fight but without Twilight to help them she'd have to do something, and so she swallowed her fear and joined Rainbow Dash and their friends in the fight. The battle was won but unfortunately it wasn't the last. The attacks became more frequent and their town was getting obliterated.
Fluttershy couldn't take it, this war was too much for her to handle and as she began to lose hope it left her in a awful state of depression. But one day something unexpected happened.
Rainbow Dash knelled to her and presented her a wedding ring. In her proposal she promised that would do anything to make her happy again and she vowed to take a stand and end the war.
Rainbow Dash's vow began to take form as she organized an army with the townspeople and their counterattacks became successful. And then one day she formed a perfect plan for an ambush at the castle in Canterlot.
But when the plan failed Fluttershy and everyone else had to fight desperately for their lives.
Fluttershy could barely keep up with the others and then her fate was sealed when a Changeling blasted a green acid on her face and caused her permanent blindness.
She miraculously escaped along with the other main four but they had to leave everyone else behind. And when they got back to Ponyville Applejack broke the friendship bonds with Rainbow, and when everyone leaves Fluttershy is the only one who doesn't abandon her.
As the days go by Fluttershy tried to get used to her new life without vision but it was proving to be hard. She couldn't cook or sew without hurting herself, nor even walking around the house on her own without tripping. She required Rainbow's assistance for everything and Fluttershy started to feel like a burden and it was tearing her apart.
So one night she made a decision which would change everything. She ran away. And the only thing she left behind was the ring Rainbow gave her so her beloved could always remember her.
She wandered without knowing where to go, and then she ended up deep within the woods of Everfree Forest. There she was encountered by several creatures, and instead of hurting her they aided and took care of her.
With the past of the years Fluttershy's senses grew sharp and she got accustomed to her blindness.
Now she lives in the forest with the creatures and developed incredible archery skills which prove useful whenever a Changeling dares to enter the forest.
