I don't know the concept the client wanted to follow about that.
In my case I came up with a concept a long time ago that involves a magic spell created by Twilight.

I may have saved the sketch for this on my iPad background so I could look at it everyday until it was done.
Once again, had to take in all the details before commenting. I think my favourite is all the colours, especially Dewey's mustard coat colour and weird rainbow hair in comparison to his mothers' "prettier" coats and hair. You made it work really well!
Also, I figured you would enjoy getting paid to draw your OTP.
