Since the Darkrai from PMD is said have watched the player all throughout the game, I thought it'd be fun to draw~ I decided to do the most penultimate scene in the game; the battle against Dialga. Darkrai is not happy at this turn of events...

well for one thing, i always kinda saw him as a shiny darkrai cause he's purple for no reason lol..
and myΒ Destroy the Time Gear Β drawing has the general idea of my headcanon for his backstory too! he had to have broken temporal tower somehow hehehe

I do love the idea of him causing Temporal Tower's collapse by destroying one of the Time Gears. Doing something like that MUST have had some kind of major consequences and caused a huge shock wave that made Temporal Tower unstable.
Ya know, now that I think about it, that might actually make a lot of sense. If Darkrai attacked Temporal Tower directly, someone would have been bound to notice him throwing Dark Pulses or something at the tower and I doubt Dialga would have allowed that. It also helps to explain why Temporal Tower didn't collapse right away and was happening over time. For all we know, it could have been collapsing for months or even an entire year before it finally gave in.

It makes sense to me, especially cause Darkrai has time powers for some reason? I always imagined it was Primal Dialga making dimensional holes for Dusknoir, but Darkrai outright makes them himself! So he could've absorbed the gear's powers or something... plus,Β the time gear in the volcano is never seen again, besides the menu screen; and it looks a lot like Dark Crater. Darkrai using the scene of his crime as a lair sounds just like something he'd do lol
But at the same time I like to think he was once a guardian, like Uxie and the others, cause that'd be interesting I think~
