I was going through my old favorites.. have you changed this picture?? Because while it's a good shot, if you have a look through the rest of my favorites, this shot doesn't really fit in. No offense, like I said, I do like this shot, I just can't figure out why it's in my favs.. haha.

wow, this is awesome-brilliant-spectacular-incredible (this could go on a bit). I love how there is so much detail. It also makes you feel that you are standing right there looking at something real instead of looking at it on a computer-which by the way some photographers have not grasped that concept(im one of them-sad isnt it-which is why i do not put photographs that i have taken up on deviantart

I think the two reasons I like this a lot, besides it having super details, is first the great composition. The waves have two strong diagonal lines, one a dark shadow from a wave and one a white line from where it breaks. Then that's repeated in the clouds, but mirrored, by the steep diagonal of the top cloud and the shallow diagonals of the ones below it. To make it even cooler there's this jut of land that is flat horizontal and cuts in into even halfs, and so now there's this total effect of these abstract motions pushing outward from the left side and other to the right, and it starts out on the left border with enough space that it doesn't push you off the right edge. I think that's making this a lot more dinamic than it would otherwise be, and is a very cool thing to have happen, even if it might not have been 100% planned. I also like the repitition of the sky and the water; both blue, both broken up but not torn apart, and both very symbolically linked and made largely of the same things in different states.
