Description "...and there to Sam's wonder rode Elrond and Galadriel. Elrond wore a mantle of grey and had a star upon his forehead, and a silver harp was in his hand..."
The Return of the King By J. R.R. Tolkien

Inspired by that line in Return of the king, I thought 'that harp has to be Maglor's, or at any rate something made in memory of him' and then I started thinking of Elrond meeting Nerdanel in Valinor and the different ways he might go about talking to her. I ended up imagining how he would find her in some secluded spot near the water and just wordlessly hand her the harp. I like to think they might be able to bond over their many losses.

Nerdanel wearing no jewellery is a conscious choice.

I love her freckles It suits her. And no jewellery, because most she has was done by Feanor, and she is sas seeing them because memories. And to be honest all jewells reminds her about the Silmarills.

Thank you! I always think of freckles when her 'ruddy' face is described, so that's what I go with
And yup, jewelry isn't a very good thing for her anymore

I am also wondering about what later becomes of Nerdanel, and what Elrond's encounter with her could be like. Though in my fanfic, what Elrond gives Nerdanel is a box containing music scores of the songs Maglor composed in Middle-earth

Right?^^ I chose the harp because of the quote, but music makes sense too

Yeah, it's really tempting to imagine what come out of Elrond's Feanorian connection, and your interpretation of the harp quotation is such a brilliant idea!

it really is, there is so much backstory (or future story perhaps) that we aren't told!
I'm glad you like my idea
