Description I'm starting to work with Pepakura.  Totally awesome program and stuff, by the way.  I tried building this piece several times, and was having a really hard time.  The spots between the horns kept deforming, and it was just all sorts of bad news, until I decided to built all the pieces, but keep the horns unattached until I'd applied resin to the base helmet.  It worked like a charm, and now it looks exactly the way it should.  There is no warping on the horns, and the tips of the themselves are even with one another.

The other bits in the picture are from the Chitauri scepter I'm also working on.  Weirdly enough, the helmet, despite the issues I was having, was way more simple to build than that damn scepter, which has been a thorn in my side for over a month.

This is the original pattern I used.  Go check out their stuff.  They're awesome.

Very impressive, I've seen a few people pull of Loki's helmet off very well and always wondered how to make those horns so thin yet self-supporting. Had no idea paper could do it! Good luck with the fiberglass though, from far away it looks smooth but close up you can see the individual paper panels, will it still sand smooth after it all cures? Hope it works!

On its own, no it won't sand smooth on its own.  It will need several additional steps for it to be con-ready.

Once I've layered it enough both inside and out, I'm going to Rondo the inside to give it additional support.  After that, I'm going to sand the edges a little and then use Bondo to fill it in and smooth it out.  Then it's on to sanding and adding in detail work.

Thanks.  There's still a lot of work to do on it (support with fiberglass on the inside, for instance).  But once I get to the finishing touches, this is going to look awesome!
