~ Muma Padurii ~Not sure if this fits the theme of Folklore better or Week 4's Dark theme, but here it goes, no. 14 of my half Inktober challenge:
Muma Padurii (Mother of the forest) is a creature in Romanian folklore in the form of an ugly old woman with hair so long that it reaches the ground, who lives in the forest. She appears wither as a witch or as a spirit whose children are trees or night spirits. In some stories she appears howling like cattle, owls or wolves, kidnapping children or coming to houses to ask for combs and butter to groom her hair. It is said that one mustn't utter more than 3 words when meeting her, or else they would be muted. She is similar to Baba Yaga of Slavic folklore.

Great job on her! She really looks to be a part of nature. I love the way the trees behind her look sort of like antlers which gives her even more of an other worldly appearance. Does she also live in a peculiar dwelling or is that only a Baba Yaga feature?

Thanks a lot!! As I usually do when depicting folklore, I tend to draw something that could be real but has a supernatural feel to it. So I'm glad you thought of that! Hmm as far as I know she just lives in a normal hut secluded in the woods, so no crazy spooky things like Baba Yaga

Wow, this is stunning! I love the look on her face and the clean lines you've used here. Before reading, I had a feeling she was similar to Baba Yaga (I saw so many puppets based on her in Czech Republic back in 2010 btw). The way the branches look behind her, makes her look like she has antlers.
