Description Ed-dog waling on Tucker-dog

This has been kicking around my sketchbook since the start of November. Been meaning to colour it for a while and finally found the time and energy needed to do it! I really wanted to draw an emotional piece and you don't get much more emotional than this.

"Yay" cheered the hundreds of watchers as Pippin posts another DotM picture after not doing one for a few months Never fear, there are another couple I've done that are awaiting colouring and I'll get back to doing DotM 13 on Smackjeeves sometime soon.

A pet human.
In a world of intelligent, anthropomorphic dogs, humans are merely hairless apes.

Can't say I like him much either. He's a typical unfeeling evil scientist.

I dunno, a few others may have ended up there eventually too. Kimblee for one. While a fantastic and complex character, he is undeniably evil.

True. I guess he redeemed himself somewhat when he overpowered Pride, even if it was just for personal satisfaction and to uphold his personal philosophy rather than to help Ed.

True. It could be one of Ed's reccurring nightmares. People keep calling him a dog, so he starts dreaming he is one, reliving each traumatic day with four legs... yeah, that would be kind-of eerie.

Thanks
Tucker was evil and deserved everything he got. However, Al may have been thinking more of his brother than of Tucker. Imagine what it would do to Ed's conscience if he had killed someone, even someone who probably deserved it. He's just not a killer ^^

You're probably right, and in hindsight I agree with you completely. I'm just saying that at the time, my mind was completely set on a very slow, painful death for Shou, regardless of the mental state Ed would be in later. I am very glad Al stopped him though.

Say i have a question, if everyone in this version of FMA is dogified then wouldn't that make the talking chimera episode redundant?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to Aruman [2009-01-20 17:17:59 +0000 UTC]

Yes and no... dog is still spliced with a human. Just think of all the roles in the animal kingdom reversed and instead of a human-talking dog chimera, it's a dog-talking human chimera ^^

Episode 7, Night of the Chimera's Cry...perhaps one of the best emotional points in the series and also one of my favourite episodes.

This is a very good picture, I love how you've drawn both Shou dog ( that's how I actually imagined him to look as a dog, too O.o ) and Edward dog.
The colouring and expressions are especially striking as well.

Yet I can't help but feel sorry for Shou here; sure a lot of people say that he's evil, but there's a difference between evil and off-the-rocker-insane; and the latter is definately what Shou became after that fated transmutation.
( at least where the original anime is concerned, I'm not too sure on the manga's version )

Great piccy, T Phoenix!

Heliotrope-Housecat In reply to Becca--Lou [2009-01-18 16:51:43 +0000 UTC]

Thank you It's one of my favourite episodes as well as it's key to character development and there's so much emotion. I agree as well that Tucker isn't evil, just insane. He sees nothing wrong with transmuting humans who, after all, are just another type of animal, and wonders why others create such a fuss. The way he laughs and is bemused by Edward's reaction is proof of this. Unfortunately, in the manga, Tucker dies the same way as Nina and is never seen again.

There's something weird about that Tucker...you kinda always get the feeling his head's not on quite straight...

Ed shoulda roughed him up a bit more..saved himself some grief later...
