Description These Cinnamon Teal ducks were sold at an auction/benefit for Delta Waterfowl at Ella Sharp Museum. I created a series of dots and lines with ink to add shade and form before I applied the watercolor.

I love the feather patterns in this Erin, and the colors. Just right. the burnt sienna color of the male is great. I can't believe that you inked it first. I'd have thought that it would have run.

Thanks John.... as long as the ink is waterproof it's not a problem. I do need to watch that my colors don't bleed into each other though...the masking fluid will help.

Interesting. I didn't realize the ink in those thin pens were water proof.

Just remember that masking fluid will ruin whatever brush you put them on with. Use an old crappy one that you can keep just for that. Or get a bottle of it that has a built in brush attached to the inside of the cover. Like those liquid paper bottles ....and for removing the fluid ... Use more fluid. pour some out onto a plastic or glass surface and let it set. Then roll it into a little ball with your fingers. Use it to roll over the rest of the fluid you've used to mask things out and it'll pull it off better than an eraser or your finger rubbing it.
