Jeez, this is perfect . I can't draw buildings or still life to save my life.
What's the real size of this?

A4 (210 × 297 mm). I use this size of paper most frequently Drawing buildings and landscapes is quite a demanding thing, but I'm sure you'll overcome this

Well, I haven't even attempted to go into it, there's so many things to measure, I feel I'd need some architectural knowledge... it'd probably fry my brain . But jeez you're good.

It looks awesome. Definitely good enough for a !!

Don't worry, I am hard on my drawings too. Many times I do commissions and fear the client will not like it because I was able to pick out some very small detail that didn't look right to me. But I'm always relieved (and happy) when the client is happy.

I am guessing you weren't happy with the lighting effect? Lighting is hard to do...especially extreme dark to extreme light contrast. Good job!

Thank you very much.
Yeah, I can say the same - I'm always a little bit worried about the client (although I don't have much of them) before he/she sees my drawing. I usually find many places I don't like, which turned not as good as I wanted, and I'm afraid client will reproach. Luckily, all my clients were happy, hope the same will be in the future and I won't disappoint them.
You are right about the lightening That is one of the things I talked about earlier, which I'm not very glad about. It was quite a difficult task to make such a high contrast between the church and light.

Still, you did a great job. It's unique. And you tackled a hard subject and did well at it.

I haven't had very many commissions lately either. For a while I was getting all kinds of them. I think it all revolved around a donation I made. I donated a gift certificate to a local humane society. They held a silent auction and the proceeds went to the humane society. The winning bidder contacted me, I did a portrait of her chocolate lab, and from that I must have gotten about 10 other commissions for dog portraits. Then they all stopped. That was about 9 months ago. Maybe I need to offer another gift certificate!!

The one thing about being critical of yourself, is that you don't get too cocky. You keep yourself on your toes by always making sure it suits you. If you get too cocky, you might deliberately overlook something. Not to mention it makes you more humble about your work and makes you appreciate your talents more.

I think it's a good thing to have your own website. You can advertise your works and catch some clients this way. Maybe I'm raving, I've never had my website. But always wanted to own one
I agree about the self-criticism. But sometimes it can be a disadvantage of your character too. I'm always unsatisfied with things, because I know everything could be much better. Like for example my drawings. I forget that even small succeeds can bring some delight. Of course this helps to improve yourself, because all the time you're trying to do everything better, but also all the time you think you suck. It can be hard to find the middle between self-criticism and confidence, but it's the best position.
