The twins find out that their Grunkle Stan has been lying to them, and afraid and confused, Dipper runs with Mabel into the forest; away from the agents. They search to go find Wendy and Soos, their last two friends they think they can go to for help.... Wendy and Soos don't seem to want to get involved, now that they've been informed of what Stan has been up to as well. Dipper feels betrayed, and goes to cry in the forest next to Mabel. She tells him they should go and save their grunkle. Dipper lashes out in confused anger, wondering how she can still go back to that man from all he's lied about. Mabel says Grunkle Stan must've had a reason for doing it, and she wants to go and save him, leaving Dipper alone in the forest.
Betrayed, Tired, and Alone, Dipper takes out his book, remembering to 'trust no one', and he cradles the book to his chest, his only source of comfort. Rocks start to lift from the ground, tree branches and grass starts to bristle about.... and gravity starts to reverse... an eerie shadow starts to appear underneath him...
...the presence of a familiar entity floats in front of him.... he's too broken to even look up to clarify who it is...
he doesn't need to..
he already knows who it is.....
feeling chills up his spine... he hears the mysterious and intrigued words float through the air.. just as everything around him does in the blinding red...
