The pronoun is either zhe/zher or they/them.

I think the ambiguous pronoun is xe and/or hir. Or s/he.

Oh, P.S; I'm something of a writer (I also run a weekly RPG) and a lot of your art has been tickling my brain, If it's no problem to you, I'd love to write some pieces loosely based on some of your work.

I've only just recently started crawling through your archives since I've discovered your work, and I might add right here that it's all been fantastic to date, I really like to always leave helpful or meaningful comments, but I've been kind of lazy recently and haven't been, seeing as your work seems to deserve so much thought and examination. But I think I'll go ahead and take this one, just because I love to voice my views on political issues (I'll start by praising your art though!);
Great job on this man. It's a delightful pen-job, full of detail, texture, and skillful shaping. I especially like the water and your life-spirits horns. The water was a nice touch, 'waters-of-life' and whatnot, and is exceptionally well-done, being skillfully drawn enough to fit with the rest of the image, cenematically appropriate for the tone of the piece, and yet subtle enough to serve as a background for the main attraction, which brings me to the Life-Giver itself (I'll go ahead and use the object-pronoun 'till you get your gender-neutral one figured out). S/he is obviously a creature of transcendent reality, it combines the phenotypic features of both the male and female genders, implying shared mental qualities with both accepted stereotypes, it combines the features of several species, horns, the tail, the head, etc. etc. Clearly it is not subject to the same petty divisions as the majority of nature's denizens, rather, it is a creature of transcendent LIFE. I love the 'wings', they remind me of Tyriel from Diablo2, and they speak of the ability both to engulf and obscure, and also to encompass and protect, perhaps another statement of this entities broad association with all life an it's processes, and it's inherent duality. As for the hermaphroditic nature of the creature, I applaud your boldness, most artists would shirk at attempting such a socially stigmatic topic, but you've delivered it smashingly! Yet more symbolism and duality, this one the sort that smacks you right in the face and says 'Hey, We're all in this TOGETHER!" Fantastic Job Hibbary.
As for the 'controversial' nature of your piece, I'll agree I think it's entirely silly for DA to make you rate this mature, and that you'd have to create a separate 'clean' version for the faint of heart or innocent of disposition. This is ART, as a matter of principal, it should free and unrestrained (DEVIANT-art), that aside, this isn't even that bad, yes, it's got a penis, yes, it's got nipples, SO? It's not like it's even DOING anything with them! : )>
Great Job, keep up the good work.

I like how if male genitalia is involved it has to be marked, but female genitalia does not. regardless its a wonderful adaptation of Hermaphrodite.

For a deity I would say "it" would be perfect. "It" may sound generic but hits the point of a deity. Deities are something beyond what we are capable of fully understanding.
This piece is beautiful. I hope my art looks like this one day... soon. I'd have to say everything about it is great. The way the cloth surrounds them; the very subtle color feels so natural for this setting; the deity (hir) self is beautiful.

The only trouble whit that kind of hermaphrodite is that they cannot make children, just clones of themselves. Unless they are like snails, smart creatures that carry both ovules and sperm, just in case something is missing.
Personally I prefer penguins or seahorses, in both cases the male does take care of the baby.

That's so beautiful, especially with the slight hints of creepiness/sorrow/something...I'm not great at turning my thoughts into words. & I have a few androgynous chars, I tend to use it or s/he, & just their for posession & stuff.

This is beautiful. I love how the nudity was not the main theme and is one of the last things you notice, but still added to the picture. The slight hue of orange in the background also adds a lot to the ambiance.
I don't see the problem with the MC warning. I really don't think it is necessary, but I'm under 18 and all I had to do was press the "Display this deviation anyways" button to see it. But this is a perfect example of non-sexual nudity that should be more expectable in society.
In my opinion, they should just scrap the whole MC thing and just say,"This website may contain question able content. Proceed with caution and don't post anything that you would uncomfortable with anyone under 18 seeing".
And perhaps a rating system of how mature the mature content (sex, nudity, violence) is for each picture. Also no porn should be allowed, but art should not be censored.

Little too lazy tonight to read through all the comments and see if anyone else told you this...
There is a gender neutral pronoun in English. It's the word 'they'. The original meaning of the word allows it to be used to indicate a single individual, regardless of gender. It was the church sometime in the 19th century that changed the meaning to only refer to groups. They felt it was inappropriate for a man or a woman to be called by the same term.
Like the picture, by the way.

I really like it, i hate the MC filter though, i mean its not like they don't show it in any biology textbook. And in this case it isnt really the content, i think it has more to do with the context of the content. any way, i really like the fur and water detail. I would fav, but my mom is uber-strict.

oh the she/he pronoun conversation, my AP biology teacher calls hermaphroditic organisms 'shims'
but that's only one morph of a pronoun, the "her/him" The problem is where you get to the he/she...
maybe Shae...I dunno why, seems to me like it might go over *shrug*

haha I kinda like how i made a comment about the artist's note, and not the piece.
Should I mimick everyone and say this is absolutely stunning? For it is :]
I'm not sure if you could improve it with color (watercolor tones) or that just counters the integrity of the linework. Really...absolutely breathtaking... it's love :]

Have I told you how much I enjoy this image? It's like magic. The deity is so beautiful and the whole picture so captivating... There's this deity creating a new little being, standing all alone in the flow of life. Or that's how I see it. Your way of drawing water is also amazing. I just really like this piece! : )
And yeah, all pronouns are genderless in Finnish. Can be helpful and can be confusing.

Well, in russian we got word that you need. Word "ΠΎΠ½ΠΎ" (o-no). "Ono" means so kind of creature (human or animal) that can be genderless or hermaphrodite or be of third gender. It is used when we talk about creature and we don't know it's gender (if it has one).

As far as a word goes, s/he is good, and maybe shim (she/him), hir (his/her)? You could always say they...Don't know^^
