Description A mountain species which uses pine trees as homes and camouflage.

The background is reffed from a photo. Again, I don't know how long it took. I really should start timing my paintings by how many episodes of DS9 run in the background. It's my only indication of time as I paint. I can tell you that the finished painting is 7 by 10 inches.

I love how this is so different from the usual dragon paintings: usually the dragon is on the middle, and its big so it's the first thing you see.... but here I had to actually search the dragon to see it! Clever idea!

Even as I see it, I still can barely see it. Your camouflaging skills are too good little dragon. The background is lovely like a Bob Ross painting. I wish there was more of a visible light source though. Something like sun rays coming down into the valley there.

Watching Star Trek while painting? I know how that goes, lol. Though, Twin Peaks is my favorite show to have in the background, because the cinematography provides so much reference material of its own. That, and it is just awesome storytelling.

Anything by David Lynch is going to be super weird. I've never watched Twin Peaks but I've entertained a curiosity.

It has it's super weird moments of surrealism. But it's got a good story. So it has far wider appeal than most of his other stuff.

Now that I've found the dragon it's kinda hard not to see it there. It's so cute~!
Gorgeous background, too, and great attention to detail.

That has got to be one of the smallest dragons their has to be, it looks practically firedrake. I guess when your not on the top of the food chain camouflage can bee a creatures greatest ally and a pine dragon so why not a pine tree as a home,, and as cute ad small as that. I do have to agree like others had you nor said the word dragon in the title I never would have likely seen it, nicely done.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

CouloirVine [2012-02-28 18:56:16 +0000 UTC]

you know if you had never said dragon in the title i probably would of never even spotted him!
but now you make me want to have a litlle pet pine dragon, though it'd most likey be a bad idea with all those spines everywhere!
