Not far away from Laramidia's southernmost tip, a giant sea going crocodile threatens a group of fishing theropods.
Doodle inspired by finds at the Ocozocoautla formation of Chiapas, Mexico, a region that was mostly under the sea at the end of the Cretaceous. The first ever evidence of dinosaurs this far south in Mexico was found here; a tooth refered to Richardoestesia. As far as I know, Richardoestesia is only known from teeth, so what it looked like is a mystery. It has been suggested to have been a fish eater, and to be a dromeosaur or something very similar. I like to imagine it as a sort of Cretaceous cormorant able to dive after fish but that's mere speculation on my part.
The "monster" is inspired by remains that were at first mistaken for a giant turtle's, but turned out to be a crocodile (maybe similar to dyrosaurids) estimated at 8 m long- one of the largest known from the late Cretaceous. It doesn´t have a name yet nor has it been formally described. From the place where it was found, it is to be infered that it lived in coastal waters, maybe estuaries, and perhaps even truly marine.

I don't think that dromeosaur is gonna stare at it more than 3 seconds before jumping away ,mouse deer style.I mean the big guy would never get satisfied from eating a tiny dinosaur,it has more feathers on it than meat.Prehistoric Mexico was interesting, just like now.

Can you do next as an idea ,a Majungasaurus mother with hatchlings killing a giant tortoise (related to kinixys) while dryolestids and Rahonavis individuals stare at them while trying their best to get food?
