Description
Sometimes, I feel so very sorry for
the letters that I write.
Born onto a blank page and
trapped there all their lives.
No new sites to see, no unfamiliar faces to meet;
standing in a lonely row
just to express my thoughts as words,
and yet, completely unable to express their own.
They lie paralyzed in their birthplace
lacking the ability to grow and learn.
Immovable to change for the rest of their lives.
And sometimes, I wonder to myself,
why I choose to be the same.

Believe it or not and remember me or not: I'm alive
And, once again, I'm quite impressed by how simple you can inflict such enormous effects. This time, though, I have a bit of critique as well
trapped there all their lives.
This plural of "life" seems weird to me her. I don't know how to actually do it, though, maybe stuff like "their entire life"? The way you put it, it sopunds like each letter has more than one life, which surely wasn't your intention
no unfamiliar faces to meet;
I'm usually a friend of this kind of pictures, but meeting a face seems a little too much to me...

I'm not sure, but to me this sounds like they are immovable, but have to change for the rest of their life. Maybe I got that wrong, but this honestly doesn't sound like what you wanted to say to me.
Altogether, this is - once again - an amazing piece. Simple, yet deep. It has a certain flow all by itself, and a lot of thoughts behind such a few short sentences. Definitely impressed (again). Keep up the good work, there's little dA literature where I have so little to complain about.

Well for the first critique, "lives" is grammatically correct because I'm discussing multiple lives. Each letter has one life obviously, but there are multiple letters. If I were talking about a singular noun, "life" would be correct, but here, I had to use the plural.
And by "immovable to change" it basically means what it says. Change cannot move them.

Like how the other day I was crying and my cat came over and started biting me to get me to stop. She was looking at me like 'What the hell are you doing, you pathetic human.' She seems to think emotions are a weakness.

Ooh, yeah. Animals always make me jealous. No over-thinking or over-analyzing. No responsibilities. It'd be great for a day, or maybe two, but I think it'd get old very fast.

Dude, this is essentially the premise of a comic I'm working on right now O.o The main character wants his art to come to life, to be more than just lines on a page, and then one day one of his drawings comes to life.
It's awesome, and I love the idea behind this c: I also adore the title!!

Ahh, wouldn't it just be amazing if life were like that? Characters walking off of pages and words flying from old books like dozens of black birds... it certainly sounds like an extremely intriguing comic!
