Has Regina become just like her mother Cora?
Her past appears to be more terrible every new episode. I am really sorry for her, even if she can be very very VERY evil. She does love Henry, and that's what's making her change.
One more thing: how did Cora become evil? What did Rumple do to her? Oh, there are so many question and so little episodes!

That's a very interesting theory, I think it could be like that!
Ruby didn't become evil because she has got Granny and Snow with her, Regina instead was left alone. She had her father, but after she married the king probably she couldn't see him very often. And he was weak anyway, so I don't think he could really help her.

I think Regina is just willing to change for Henry. I don't think she cares about any of the others, but she wants to redeem herself for him.
Agreed, she seems to have had a really horrible life! I'm sorry for her too.
I think Rumple had Cora in mind first for casting the curse. Maybe he taught her magic like he did with Regina, but unlike Regina, Cora didn't love anything so therefor she couldn't activate the curse. I think that's when he set his sights on Regina instead. Or Rumple might have planned all along for Cora to be a crappy mother which would lead Regina down the path to the dark side.

I like your idea too! As we can see, Rumple had a very big and long-term plan! I wonder how many years it took, and how old Bae could be now (but we don't know if time runs the same in our world and in the fairytale one).
I also agree that Regina just care about Henry and noone else. And so it's Rumple with Belle and Bae. But he's more weak and coward than Regina, so his 'conversion' may be more difficult and long.

Thanks! Yeah I've wondered that too, but remember Apple red as blood. The portal Jefferson opened to FTL didn't open in the present FTL, but in the past. So it's possible some portals send you through time as well as universes.
Taking that into consideration, it's entirely possible that Bae hasn't even emerged yet on our side. Maybe he comes out from the portal in the year 2023, just as an example. Either way it'll be interesting to see what they come up with!

I do think both of them will have some kind of return to their old selves in SB, cause it's not easy for either of them to change.

Yeah, you're right, portals can also transport in time. And we don't know yet how beans work. Have you watched episode 2x06? I think Henry's father is Bae. (I'll tell you my theory if you have watched it ^^).
Also Rumple has a stronger reason to use magic and to do whatever it takes (even evil things), beacuse he wants to find his son. Regina instead did her revenge and now her priority is just Henry's love.

I agree, that's why he said he believed in magic. And that would explain also why August knew that Rumple was looking for his son when he came in Storybrooke the first time. August is not the good guy he made us believe he was. (He also took the money).
