Description Took about three hours today to do a quick-ish study. (Hey, it's quick for me!) I'm going on a little jaunt through art history picking paintings I like and studying them, and I'll have a crack at emulating the styles of a few movements along the way. I'm just trying to work out what art I really want to make.

First stop, the Renaissance. I picked Lucretia And Her Husband , attributed to Titian (though according to Wikipedia it may not in fact be a Titian, but most sources say it is.) I've actually realised that the version I made the study from is actually somewhat more muted in terms of colour for some reason than the original piece. Oops. I also appear to have been a little harsh on the shadows, which is something I shall have to keep in check in future. Ah, well. On to the next!

Thanks to mar-katheechodragonhoustonsharpnathies-stockpixelstains  and DanLuVisiArt  for sharing their awesome brush packs.

damn! this is great. i love studies, it's cool to see spot-on duplicates that also show what the artist's personalized style brings to the painting

Yes I see , You like the Renaissance
One of the most brilliant and creative period , perhaps the most ,
but I like much also the Preraffaellites , even they were in '800 century
I love their art and the Renaissance . some painters , unknown , not only the
great , were the student , pupil of the famous painters but they have also
fantastic feeling for the form , for color , for light .

Yes, I'm planning to work my way through art movements and see what I like. I like the Pre-Raphaelite movement too, especially Waterhouse.
