Description Another villain of mine, this time of the somewhat more comical variety: Sidney Balderdash.

One of the earliest villains to come out of the woodwork, Sidney Balderdash was a failing snake-oil salesman and engineer, until the emergence of a costumed superhuman calling himself "Guardsman" inspired him to become an over-the-top "evil genius" supervillain, beginning a rivalry with the hero that would span for at least three decades. In that time, he acquired a record of crimes that includes(but is not limited to) building various advanced technology of questionable legality, rampaging-through populated areas in giant robots, aiming high-powered "death-rays" at various things and people that had irked and/or slighted him, robbing banks of several billions of dollars, attempting(and spectacularly failing) to take-over the entire state of Colorado, tying numerous people to train tracks, stealing candy from babies, jaywalking, and being a general public nuisance. Due to both his over-the-top and cliche "villain" persona, as well as his motivation(s) behind his criminal antics oftentimes being rather petty and somewhat nonsensical in nature, he'd more-or-less become a joke among many of the other supervillains.

After so many years of participating in the standard hero-battles-villain routine, Balderdash's advancing in age finally caught-up with him to the point where his body(especially his heart) could no longer take the strain of their constant battles, forcing him to retire from his supervillainous ways. Nowadays, he's most commonly found at a D.A.W.N.-secured retirement home, where Guardsman routinely visits to check-up on and occasionally play chess with his old foe.

I like this. It feels like you are adding a "golden age" to your hero world!

Thanks. Yeah, Guardsman's teenage/early adult years were pretty much this world's "Golden Age."

I really like this guy, particularly the part about him playing chess with is ex-nemesis; the Guardsman. It's just a nice way to retire the character without killing him. (DC, make notes)
