Description No need to tell you where this is..

This aircraft was the first production T.5 and flew on 17th July 1964, it flew on active service at RAF Cotishall with 226 OCU and then 23 Squadron at RAF Leuchers.
It flew at all the major Lighting bases including Binbrook, Wattisham and Coningsby before going into storage..
It re-entered service in 1979 and moved No 11 Squadron until it burst ALL its tyres on landing where upon, it re entered storage..
It then, RE-RE entered service with The LTF i 1986, XS417 flew in the LTF's formation flypast at Binbrook on 6th April 1987, A Month later it was returned to storage and stripped of parts for spares..

The museum purchased it in spring '88 and after a long restoration has finally restored it to almost new spec.. Including starting generator..
Barriers almost NIL.

Fave aircraft of ALL time.

LOL Well..
But sadly, the only QRA hanger left is at Brutingthorpe (but.... it does hold two live Lightnings), so all not lost then..
QRA Fighters now live in hardened shelters..
This Museum has some cool stuff mate.
