Wonderful Hondo. I am surprised that the d7000 got so noisy as 6400. Did you blow this up a lot from the original file?

it is a little bit less than 50%, but i've noticed the noise at 6400 at night quite a bit. i did no on board noise reduction or dark frame stuff.

The MP's of the D700o is 16.2? Should be more than sufficient to handle this I would think. But 50 percent is quite a large increase for a small sensor. Its been awhile now that I have used a ratio factor DX digital. I must be spoiled from the full frame FX cameras. This easily handle even a 75 percent crop.
But its a minor thing...the heart of the image is still its substance and you have plenty of that going on here. Nice capture dude.

it was still mostly dark and it was hand held and i'm amazed with the results. it was late, cold and i made the effort. i had the tripod but was too tired to bother. lol, that's the difference betweeen an amatuer and a professional. i'm sure you would have bothered and produced your usual spectacular results. thanks for the kind words, i'm having fun.
