Terrified, pursued by angry torch throwing Peasants Max stumbled into a small craft and carefully balancing pushed off from the banks of the river. The boat floated down the river with angry Peasants pursuing it along the banks until it floated under a bridge and out to sea. The peasants through their last torches at FrankenEmu's Monster and sobbing and exhausted he dropped to the bottom of the dinghy and fell fast asleep. He awoke in a delerium of fever, burnt patches of painfully blistered and roasted skin, and great bare spots with no feathers at all. The sun beat down on him, and with no drinking water to ease his parched throat and no shade for his already burned skin Max fell back into a troubled and painful sleep. No one knows how long he was on that torturous long and lonely journey at sea between earth and sky. Not even Max.
He awoke to find himself being hauled on to a great ship, and many men fearsome in aspect gazing down at his burned twisted form. The first word Max uttered was WAAA which everyone knows means water in its most rudimentary form so the men gave him water. Max said BBBUUURRRP which all real men know means that was good. The men tried to help Max up, but he said AAARRRRRRRRGGGHHHH which means back off I can do it myself. Max stood up an all the sailors stepped back in awe and fear, for they had never seen such a large "thing"? Then their captain afraid of nothing and having seen everything that has ever walked, climbed, jumped, slithered or crawled out of the sea stepped forward and looked up at the giant hulk of an Emu. Aye Matee are ye fore us or agin us, cause we being pirates you must join our sorry lot or die. Max looked down at him and said Maah waah AAArrrgghhh. Which means more water please, but in Pirate means "Glad to be Aboard". Everyone started smiling and patting him on his sunburn so and Max went beserk with the pain screaming AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, and began running around the deck knocking Pirates over as he passed. They thought he wanted to party so they handed him some rum, and began singing. Now they didn't sound that great but Max loves music so he calmed right down, drank some of the funny "water" and then relaxed. The other pirates having a bit of fun, and now sensitive to Max's sunburned condition, wrapped his head in a red bandanna, combed out his matted hair, and braided his beard. They found some beads to go with his strange shiny piercings, and covered him with a huge cape to protect his raw patchy skin from the sun. They prided themselves on how well their ship and crew looked, and were quite pleased to have such a large new addition to their pack of cut throats and thieves. After talking to him for a while they realized this new Compadre was the Pirate of many a nightmare, and highly knowledgable about instruments of torture and death. He would make an excellant Pirate to intimidate the Spanish Ships laden with gold coming from the Americas. He towered over man and beast
This 11" X 14" Pencil Rendering on Strathmore Smooth Bristol was done for a Wanted Poster put up by the French, English, and Spanish in an attempt to capture the Strange Fearsome Pirate ...Max... dread pirate of the Atlantic Main. Only some of this adventure is known so your intrepid reporter will fill you in on some of Maxes adventures, and let you know where Max ended up after a few Pirate years.
