Sorry it took me so long to get a look at this,I haven't been checking my deviantwatch notifications recently

More amazing work! I still can't figure out how to have such clean, dark lines. I always end up accidentally smudging the area around them. Awesome job on the whiskers, I like how you didn't use too many hard lines to define them, youkept it minimal and just suggested that they're there

Hopefully I'll figure out how to do stuff like thisone day. Keep it up!

HoustonTxArtist In reply to Aazerus [2011-12-20 04:45:22 +0000 UTC]

Oh no worries, sometimes I'm weeks behind now to see some peoples art, sometimes I just go to their page from my list to check on their stuff.I'm glad you like it,I didn't think anyone was going to mention the whisker part,I'm glad you took the time to notice that,I wanted to try something new with that, hahaYou know, smudging used to be one of the things I had troubles with,I've picked up a technique lately, but sometimes I still forget to use it,I have to tell myself to do it all the time, haha, but I use a scrap piece of paper to cover up where I've drawn now,so I won't smudge the shading up.I hate smudging, but the paper trick works pretty good,I use a smaller piece than the piece I'm using to draw on.Hey,trust me my friend, you will be doing stuff like this and way beyond this one day, just keep it up,patience and practice,I got faith in your skills

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2011-12-22 23:26:07 +0000 UTC]

Well it worked out It was actually the first thing I noticed after "awesome tiger drawing!"

Hmm... Sounds like a good idea, I'll have to try it one day.

One day maybe, as long as I keep practicing. I just took a University-level drawing course and man, was it frustrating, being with a group of people that've done nothing but study art since they got out of high school. But it also gave me the kick in the ass I needed to start pushing myself a little more

Oh and I almost forgot, I'm done all my school stuff, so if you guys still need some help with the group, I've got tons of free time

Nice, good to know you have a plan. Definately better to know what you want to do than to go to school just to go to school. Good luck!

Damn, well hopefully he'll get them fixed, instead of having to buy new ones.
I'm looking forward to it, seems like it'll be interesting

It was a great movie man,I almost forgot it's a Stephen King movie,it's been awhile since I read a Stephen King book, great writer from what I've read so far.I think someone one day will make a re-make of the movie,I hope they don't kill the whole thing when they do,a new version would be awesome I think

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-01-11 04:34:15 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I really got into his books a few years ago, there's a lot of pretty great ones

The remake would have to be really well done. The original itself isn't that old, and doesn't really have any scenes that could use modern special effects (that I can remember, at least)
But yeah, I'd probably get excited if they made a new version
They would have to include Jack Nicholson somehow though

Yeah, they would have to have him in it!I think it's a great idea.Speaking of The Shining,I recently saw a picture of Danny Lloyd, the boy in the movie,I think it was taken in 2011.[link]

One of my all time favourites. You should definately pick up a copy if you like Stephen King books. It's kind of long, around 800 pages, but it's good

Definately, it's ben a while since I've read something over 600 pages. I need to find another good long book.

Oh and it looks like they are planning on making a movie(or three) out of it! [link]

I haven't been to the movies in forever, but I'd go and see that for sure if they make that. There was a scary movie that just came out not too long ago,I was going to see that, but never got around to it.

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-02-03 21:37:48 +0000 UTC]

I usually go every few weeks with my grandfather. He's into action and horror movies, so it's a good way to spend some time.

Hmm, I can't really remember any really good scary movies that came out recently. There was The Thing that was kinda cool, but that's about it.

It seems like everything that comes out these days (movies/games/TV shows) are all action-focused. I missthe days when people didn't think we need huge explosions and a constant adrenaline rush to be entertained.

HoustonTxArtist In reply to Aazerus [2012-02-12 05:07:34 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yeah,I watched a movie just the other day,I thought it was going to be great before I started it,it was "11.11.11",a family moves into this town and the little boy turns out to be the devil or something like that on 11.11.11,honestly,the movie sucked so bad. There was a part where a policeman was driving an evil babysitter away from the house, some wasps got into his car and made him wreck into a telephone pole. What's hilarious is it looked super fake, and it was a Dodge Charger police car, going really slow, hit the pole and explodes in a fireball, haha.

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-02-12 21:00:23 +0000 UTC]

It's hilarious how bad horror movies are these days. I guess we're in between horror trends. The ones they used to use (aliens, robots, monsters, ghosts, etc) don't scare us anymore and they haven't found a new way to do it yet.

Paranormal Activity was a good one. They went for the whole "less is more" thing and it worked pretty well. I wouldn't say it scard me, but it definately made me nervous lol

Those random explosions always make me crack up. I was watching an old James Bond movie and one of the cars that was chasing him went off a small bumb, pretty much the difference between the sidewalk and the street, and burst into flames.
Later on, a plane crashed into the ocean and as soon as the nose touched water - instant fireball.

Haha, the last part cracked me up,the plane crashing into the ocean, barely touch the water, boom, hahaha.Oh man,I loved Paranormal Activity, great movie. It was one of the better scary movies I've seen in a long time.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-02-16 06:13:32 +0000 UTC]

lol yeah, hollywood can get ridiculous with it's explosions, especially in older movies.

I was on edge the entire time I was watching Paranormal Activity. You just never really knew what was going to happen and when. The freakiest part for me was the end of the movie, when they had something like 5-10 minutes of black screen with this humming sound which was so low-pitch I wasn't really sure if I was actually hearing it or just imagining it. They pretty much scared me by doing nothing lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HoustonTxArtist In reply to Aazerus [2012-02-20 05:34:42 +0000 UTC]

Haha,I know what you mean man, when they leave the imagination to do it,it's even better.I'm not sure if it was number one or two,but one of the paranormal activities had a part where the lady stands there for hours and hours, that part was cool, tripped me out a little, haha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-02-21 05:18:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that was one, and it was damn creepy lol

I wish there were more movies that did the whole "less is more" thing, it's amazing when it's done properly

Yeah man.Oh,Final Destination 4,I'm not sure if you've seen the cover, but I bought it for dvd 3d a while back, came with some glasses.Well,I put my car in the shop, and the guy who owns it comes out and asks if I liked the movie,I was like, hell yeah man,I liked it.He told me the girl in the movie on the front cover is his neice,he said she was on "the hills",which I never watch, but I thought it was damn cool.I was like hey, that's about the closest I've came to a celebrity, haha

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aazerus In reply to HoustonTxArtist [2012-03-05 06:12:24 +0000 UTC]

Nice! I saw the movie, but don't remember the cover.

I don't think I know anyone who knows any TV/movie stars, but my friend's family has connections to the music scene. His grandmother's a big(ish) jazz singer and his dad has played shows with the Chilli Peppers and almost ended up doing some bass work with the Gorillaz.
I've known him since we were kids and only found out all this a couple years back! Crazy stuff
