Been a while since I last made a black opal dragon. I'm a little sad that I couldn't get the black on this one as dark as I'd have liked, but I do like the soft shimmer of the purple opal flakes on top. I had the idea of using my smaller hornet wings as a pair of horns to match the wings. I like the result! It's been driving me a bit crazy that I haven't been able to make horns that match my fairy wings perfectly, and this does the trick.
This dragon ended up a bit larger than usual, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to use up some of my moonstone cabochons and gave her a little clutch of eggs to guard. They shimmer beautifully, just like her. ^w^
Crafted from Premo polymer clay, gilding foil, moonstones, bugle beads, Swarovski crystal elements, and handmade fairy wings. This dragon has been sold.
