October Monthly Community Challenge: Haunted.
Many of our characters have witnessed, experienced, or done things that linger on their mind, haunting their waking moments or their fitful sleep.

Weakness. The memory of it was oft' forgotten by Kviir, right along with the rest of his life before he aligned himself with Malaysia. Most days, the era of his sickly youth never crossed his mind. So rare is it that he speaks of his past that some among the pack might argue that he was never a pup at all. It might even be said that he was created from loam and snow and soft, blush petals. Kviir is only smiles when he hears these things, never giving anything away other than a wink or jesting word.

However, the truth of the matter is a secret he'll never escape or truly forget. Now it then it claws at the underside of his consciousness and reminds him that he was frail once. It reminds him that, for all his newly begotten power and worth, he was once little more than a wheezing ghost and it was by luck alone that a wayward winter breeze hadn't claimed his life.

Its times like these that he sets his jaw and grows quiet. Its memories like these that often spur him to rouse a packmate to accompany him on late night forages through Veseti Forest.

Iorikh is often the victim of Kviir's ill-timed demands. The wanderings through the dark northern forests are often wordless when Kviir's in one of his moods and unfortunately the mindset can be contagious at times. The ambiguous shapes and bleak shadows of the woods at night remind him of the shifting shadows that followed a blood moon and all else that's happened since. Given everything he has witnessed since his alignment with the Kol, Iorikh often finds himself haunted by magic itself and all it entails.

Although his fear of the unknown power has dissipated over the years, some other facet of it all has grown to haunt him now. At least the purposeful strolls give him ample opportunities to contemplate how to address his quietly growing dilemma.
