August Monthly Community Challenge: Scars.

All characters have encountered pain at some point in their life, and for many, the memory of it never fades.

` 'Untrained eyes could confuse the Foxglove for the harmless Comfrey with disastrous consequence.'

But there's little to be done when the body is starving; surrounded by poison and maddened by distress, Vashti swallowed 'foxglove' by the mouthful and although she suffered many of the effects of its toxicity, she lived.

Her hide may be pristine, but the rest of her is not. Like the maker of her unseen scars all twisted 'round her bones and through the sinews of her flesh, she would seem to untrained eyes as harmless as the comfrey. Take caution all who seek a soothing balm, there's poison in this blossom.
