Have you read the book? If you have, then have you read Susan Kay's version? It's called "Phantom" and gods, you have no IDEA how much he's like Baku.
Not in the...polite sense. Like, the Phantom can be ingeniously charismatic, whereas...Baku...is...the evil darkness...-_-' but at any rate...THE PHANTOM WAS A MASTER THIEF BEFORE TOO! He stole from the Shah and actually replaced the jewels he stole with fake glass copies WHICH HE MADE HIMSELF!!
Bakura: ...baka. So much trouble. (just steals the jewels)

I mean, i have the mandarin version of YGO,and he doesn't have an accent at all, which is understandable, and he has a lower voice than Bakura! ^_^ The mandarin seems to have the yami's voices must be higher, while the english insist that the yamis's voices must be lower. ^)^ But still, his accent's not bad! Of course, Bakura's ....XD He just sounds like a really really pissed off Ryou. And he looks like a really really pissed off Ryou too. No wonder people get them confused. XD

I'm not sure. My theory is that he probably got it while he was trying to escape from the massacre of Kuru Eruna. I mean, I proabaly think that some careless soldier just skimmed him lke that and htought he was dead..and that's how he escaped...iono, my theory.
