The song is about the next natural elvolution of mans being/soul. We as humans have 44 & 2 chromosomes and when we evolve to the next level...46&2, that is what is called by many the "Christ Consciousness". This and the next two levels after that tie into Lateralus, whisch is belived to be the numeric equation to the Big Bang!..i know, ..." One of the most influential and rising (as far as energy is concerned -- watch that prana quicken!) songs of the TOOL repetoire, it is quite the mighty spell played upon my brain.
It is so: The way of my mind is malleable to a great extent.
Stimulus shapes it. TOOL is a wonderful ....tool.
Mind + TOOL = Awe. "Perception of beauty awakened."
I wonder if I am the architect of these wonders, or if I am the watcher standing by as the Love of Light works its magic upon the substance of my mind.

It's a wonderful piece, I can connect emotionally and intellectually (and a bit more "lly"s as well, but these will go unnamed) with your art. The image slithers into my mind and winds itself around my thoughts until it is caught in --that place-- of Going Beyond.

hmm, thinking back to biology class.. i thought that we have 46 chromosomes - or you mean 44 & 2 = 44 + 2 = 46? and thus, 46 & 2 = 46 + 2 = 48? if not.. i'm kinda confused.
but do the number of chromosomes really have anything to do with our complexity? I thought some animals had more complex dna then us, and some had less... of course, that one i'm less sure about...
strane i never really hear what songs say. forty six & two is one of my favorite tool songs but only because of how it sounds - not the words. hmm, that says something bad about me.. however, i could probably sing along to it.. just not tell you what the words mean. that is really odd.
HEY - i checked out a bunch of tool videos. a few i've seen before (the parabola one, and the one with the guy with tentacles coming from his eyes - er, next to them), others were new, all were good. still have prison sex, hush, and some others to go. thanks for recommending them.
