All right...so I've been wanting to draw a neon tornado now for a while, since I began drawing tornadoes. And it actually turned out more realistic (excepting the color) than I had expected it to look, and I really liked how it turned out.

I was vaguely tempted to put it in "psychedelic", but it really doesn't fit there, because it IS a realistic scene, and I meant it that way, so I put it in "landscapes". (They *really* need a "weather" category for digital painting!)

So...here is my neon tornado. I know it totally defied the laws of physics in some ways...there's no possible way the sky could turn that color, nor the tornado itself, especially since tornadoes are the color of the crap they suck up. (And there's no neon sand on the ground, LOL) not to mention deserts don't normally get tornadoes. But "desert" just was the landscape that formed when i was painting it. It was meant to be. :grin:

But otherwise I tried to be realistic, and make things happen the way they're supposed to. I tried to give the tornado the rotating motion, and have the dust kicking up, and the trees bent over with this wind that's blasting the desert, and I tried getting the swoops of clouds reacting to the winds of the tornado...etc.. In the end I was happy with the picture.

I have also designated it as 42. Uh-oh... on my 100 theme challenge. [link] As in, "Uh-oh, it's a toxic tornado!"
