Some fanart of two awesome dudes. One is a talented poet/rapper, and the other makes awesome beats. Check out their music here: [link]I tried something new with colors on this pic. I'm not sure if it really shows. I also tried to keep the lineart consistent throughout, to give a kind of a flat and vibrant feel to the characters.

PS - After sending this picture to the band, they loved it enough to ask me if I could make them a website. Several months and lots of changes later, it's finally up. You can see the finished site here:

I met them when they played a show in Chicago. Since I was working on their website, they let me in the show for free and I got to hang out with them a bit. They're nice guys.

Awesome, only recently started listening to DLSvsSP and they're amazing. Good lineart man but the eyes kinda look a little lifeless (a bit like a mii!). It's cool to know the band likes it too! Good work.

Neat! Don't mind my suggestion, but when you begin to draw the facial stuff, use a smaller brush size. Or better yet, use the same size, and after, use a smaller size one to make smaller details.
Everything's looks cool, it's just when it starts looking good, you need cleaner detail.
I dunno, that's what I think.

Well, I was going for a flat look. So, for this picture, the detail in the face was kind of unecessary. But, I'll keep that in mind for future pics.

You're right the characters do seem flat.
But thats not a bad thing. The flatness seems to mix well with the colors. It doesn't seem too flat because of the wrinkles in clothing.
It gives it a more cartoony feel.

I like this, but the line art seems flat... having a varying width of line brings a greater sense of depth and importance to a picture.
