Description These are the smallest extraterrestrial liveforms I created so far, nearly all members of the Canduibarbadea are less than 1 cm long. They are aquatic creatures and a important part of the underwater ecosystems. They feed on phythoplankton and are the main food souce of some silvanian vertebrates hyrotrioskjan.deviantart.com/a…

But beside the important niche they fill they are also intersting in their anatomy and behavior. Ramioculus for example has a very strange eye and is full of display structures, Canduiaculeus swimms on it's back and Alacrus uses its exouteral claws to grab the female.

Don't be shy when you have question, I know I leave much open here...

May I have your permission to post a 3d rendition of Alacrus marshalli? I'll of course make it very clear that the design and concepts belong to you.

They remind me of shrimps and krill in appearance (for the most part), but those eyes are really something else. Thy must have 360 vision.

Truly outstanding work! It's a breath of fresh air to finally see some 'real' aliens. (extra-terrestrials that actually look plausible for once) Great work!

How do you do this?! This planet just never stops getting better!

Also, what are the laterally flattened tails for? Are they simply rudders, or are they flexible enough to aid with swimming?

Hyrotrioskjan In reply to Drakonial [2013-12-14 01:50:08 +0000 UTC]

They are just rubbers, the internal musculature isn't strong enough to move this boby part in such a way

This is incredible!!!
All my life I have been somewhat frustrated because I'm never going to see a true alien and see how they really are. But thanks to your work, I feel less bad about it.
Thank you very very much for sharing (:

I have similar animals known as quill slugs that I should get back to detailing and presenting.

They remind me of your Cuspipods. Are they the ancestor of those bugs or rather cuspipods that had enough of tripping over and flailing their legs helplessly re-adapted for aquatic lifestyle?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hyrotrioskjan In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2013-12-13 23:37:29 +0000 UTC]

They ARE Cuspipoda, should have mentioned that, and to be honest they are more primitve than their terrestrial realtives
