Ach, ja! Die eurasische Art ist der Wolpertinger, richtig? Ich hörte, es solle neben dem Deutschen noch ein ähnliches Wesen in Schweden geben!

I like how the design makes it plausible in real life and simultaneously accurate enough to the legend to recognizable.
One question. Are the horns actual horns (kind of like those from Ceratogaulus>; with bony cores and everything) or are they more akin to rhinoceros (semi-bony core and what appears to be hair) or babirusa (teeth) "horns"?

Pseudolepus occidentalis. But newer research assumes that it was maybe just a supspecies of the canadian jackelope, because the viking bring this animals from america back home.

are the horns only in males?

The females have also horns, but they are a bit smaller, the candian species have more robust horns, and here the horns have the same size in both genders.

I know, the possibility of rodent-horns was a reason for me to create this animal.

Perhaps the Genus for Europe could be named Wolpertinger or Elwedritschen. Sure these "rabbits" have no wings but some depictions looked close to the jackalope.

Yes it's one and the same world (to be exact, every project of mine fit into the same world, there are just temporal and spatial differences)
