Description I give permission for =ImagersFractalDDs to submit it as a deviation and for a print.

Description
...Powerd?

Well. I had some personal debate whether to submit this as a normal deviation or bide my time to submit it in a fractal contest. Looks like I chose the former since I decided that I can't be so contest-minded...

Sharpened, replace color, invert colors in Photoshop. Brushed up (using brush tool) also in Photoshop. (Forgot what did I do with the brush tool). Originally the color is blue with some green.

1050 x 750 because when creating this fractal Apo's resolution was 350 x 250.

If I remember correctly, only the Linear variation was used.

EDIT: On a second look, the lower-left part of the brain seems to be a bit dark - a bit unsuitable. I may use the brush tool to go over it, see if I have the time.

EDIT 2: Sorry! Forget what about what I said only the Linear variation was used. Triangle #1 has Linear/Disc, and Triangle #2 has Bubble. So this wasn't a fully Linear fractal. I remember wrongly, it seems. Sorry!

I love the colouring!

Thanks! This wasn't the original color, the original color is blue/green. I had to invert it, and paint through the pink parts to make it into a color that could convince me that it looks like a real brain. (Green inverted is pink. Don't ask me why. Ask Photoshop.)

Thanks. I am glad I decided to submit this. If I hadn't had that "Does this look like a Brain?" thought I wouldn't have done it.

Lovely impression, but I see a weeping willow tree. Very nice!

Thank you, one fun thing about shape-fractals is that different people may see different things in it.

I can see the tree too, it seems to be dying, slanting towards the left, and the decay is starting to show... And wow, you can see that it's a willow tree

You mean you want a devArt print? I'm underage So I can't offer you a print. I can give you the parameters though, and give you some idea of what I did during the post-manipulation so that you can re-create this image.

I'm thinking of giving you the parameters so you can tweak it further, render it at a custom size and post-manipulate it in Photoshop your way But if you want me to do the work for you, it's fine too; just tell me in what resolution you want it to be in; and I'll send you the .PSD file or .PNG file, whichever you prefer.

We'll see about that. Would you consider donating it to our print account here? (like I need to get my own up soon )

hyruwen In reply to ImagersFractalDDs [2007-02-03 21:25:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I'd be glad to, so how should I donate, and to which print account?

I'll be going for the aspect ratio 1.33:1. The maximum size is 7200 x 5400. Quality 500 takes approximately a day to render, while at 200 quality takes 12 hours to render. Samples:

Render at 1024 x 768, quality 500, before Photoshop manipulation: [link]

Render at 1024 x 768, quality 200, before Photoshop manipulation: [link]

There is some differences if you compare it side-by-side. Which do you like more, 200 or 500?

I don't think I could do it at a higher resolution or quality because it would be very impractical. So tell me your thoughts, after all, it's you who want a print, so it has to be according to your specifications.

I've finished rendering it, it is not-photomanipulated, I will send you the file and the instructions on how to photomanipulate it once I have a big chunk of free time because it's 25 MB and my Internet connection isn't unlimited access (and my broadband is quite slow). The photomanipulation instructions are pretty easy, just one filter, Invert colors and some brush work using Photoshop.

Thought of sending the un-Photoshopped version because you can do anything you want with it, but if you want me to photomanipulate it, that's fine, just drop me a reply.

Take your time and do whats necessary. If it becomes too much of a hassle I can always note you with the user name and password for this account and you can put it up yourself

My original fractal background was black, it was just that I inverted the colors in Photoshop, so it was kind of like an accident. A happy one. Thanks!

Actually, I like the dark part on the bottom. It stands out better against the white background. Nice design. And kind of you to offer parameters!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hyruwen In reply to FractalRock [2007-01-31 15:45:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Well, I always offer my parameters to all, maybe it's my way of contributing; I remember when I wasn't so good at Apophysis, I always wanted to get my hands on some of the parameters of those great fractals out there, to see how those fractals are created.

Some parts of the dark parts are just way too dark, as if I 'burned' them with fire... They look like ashes. I'll see if I can 'un-burn' them.

So... You want the parameters? I'll be happy to share them.

FractalRock In reply to hyruwen [2007-01-31 16:15:53 +0000 UTC]

Sure, I'd love to take a look at them. I was trying to tell just by glancing what variations were used, and I couldn't decide if it was just linear or linear and spherical. Who knows, maybe I'm totally wrong! Thanks!

This was a fractal created on the 18th of January, and I forgot how I did some of the steps. (Prepare for a long comment!)

By the way I think I remember wrongly, the end fractal is Linears/Disc and Bubbles. So I'm wrong in calling this fractal a fully linear one. Corrected it now.

I started out with this fractal, direct from a Random Batch.

I changed the variations and moved the triangles slightly. I did not change the individual points of the triangles, just move only, that's my way of editing; I move triangles first.

Moved some triangles further.

Moved Triangle #1 a bit.

Color change! It's not the same as this deviation; I've mentioned that I did some heavy post-manipulation using Photoshop.
