Description Who, if I screamed, would hear me among the angels?
and even if one of them pressed me suddenly against his heart
I would be consumed in that overwhelming existence.
For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror,
which we are still just able to endure,
as it threatens to annihilate us.

every angel is terrifying.

more on them later.

wanted to keep this in its muted colours and low contrast for an old worn painting sort of feel.

Oh my god, I saw the performance in April. It was wonderful. Your photo really captures the mood during the preparation.

you did? what was your favourite part of the show?

Wow... it would be hard to select a favourite part. I loved the suspensions, especially the second one where the audience got really into it.

I loved the acrobats downstairs. I do clowning and it's great to see others doing a public performance.

I really liked seeing the tattoo artist there, but kept wondering about sterility issues.

that's a lovely light in there, the texture of the fabric is cool too.

Kind of reminds me of Caravaggio, that chiaroscuro effect, but a bit flatter.

I'm not sure whether it would improve the composition if you cropped out the girls head...

the girls head in there is part of what makes the photo for me.

I gotta say I find this one pretty disturbing as well, but still very intriguing. The sparse lighting and the pose definitely add to the feeling.

I really like this, I think, but I'm not sure exactly why...I like the lighting, and it makes me feel SOMETHING I'm not quite sure if it's comforted or very uncomfortable, and for that reason I'm favoriting it. Interesting shot.

that quote is from the Duino Elegies, right? really interesting story behind those elegies....written in a town called, no shit - Trieste. How perfect and heartbreaking is that?
