Is it highly breakable? Or is it pretty solid?

It probably won't break if you drop it, but it might squish if you sit on it. The pyramid base is cardboard.

How did you make it?

icycatelf In reply to Multiverse13 [2014-11-21 20:31:09 +0000 UTC]

I started by making a pyramid bade with cardstock (4 triangles and a square). Then I cut the "puzzle" pieces out of a sheet of cardboard and glued them onto the base. Separately, I made the eye out out salt dough (home-made play doh), which took about 24 hours to completely dry (which would've happened much quicker if I had baked it). The next day, I glued the eye to the pyramid with cardboard on it. I got another piece of cardboard and poked a hole in it, then got a key ring and wrapped a wire around it, running it through the small hole and folding it on the other side, gluing it down. I then attached the cardboard with key ring to the top of the pyramid. After that, I just coated it with a couple layers of acrylic paint and a few coats of metallic gold spraypaint.

If it was that hard to make it like that, I can't imagine how hard it would be to make all the pieces of the Millenium Puzzle authentically gold-plate like how they actually were in the show

Thats amazing * u*/)
-steals-
If possible, could I please see side of the puzzle?
I'm possibly going to make one myself and I can't seem to find a picture of the puzzle on its side.

Thanks! You should see it now that it has a chain instead of the string!

To be honest, I just kind'a BS'd the sides of it. At the time, I couldn't find any pictures of them, either.

Here's a picture of an official Yami Yugi model that shows the side of the puzzle: [link]

I wish I could've found this when I was making mine.

You're welcome!

I've had so many people ask how I got it so shiny! I used Krylon Metallic Brilliant Gold Indoor Exceptionally Smooth Spray Paint. It's super shiny and dries really fast.

I think I made mine a little too small. Well, maybe not for younger/smaller people. It's about 4x4x4", though a more realistic size would probably be about 5x5x5" or (compared to Yugi) 6x6x6".

I started by making a pyramid bade with cardstock (4 triangles and a square). Then I cut the "puzzle" pieces out of a sheet of cardboard and glued them onto the base. Seperately, I made the eye out out salt dough (home-made play doh), which took about 24 hours to completely dry (which would've happened much quicker if I had baked it). It looks heavier than it really is.
