Description A while back i posted the pictures of my Altair belt taken when i had just finished it
idiotengine.deviantart.com/art…

But now i have decided to do an entire Altair costume i thought id go for some realism and weather all my leather parts.

So the high tech process of kicking it around the garden began, i split a few stitches unintentionally, but the belt still holds together so i may just leave it.
plenty of scuffs and pocks and a few small signs of stress and tearing really make the belt look worn in and realistic.

I even went to the effort of darkening the leather a little by adding a few drops of water and ironing it, which also gave it a cool old texture.

Next I'm adding the frog (drop down sheath) but i still need to tool the leather a little and get a rivet gun.

"So the high tech process of kicking it around the garden began"... Indeed, that's quite the high tech method. xD

I can't use the high tech method of yours, since it would rip the weird soft plastic-/wax-ish fabric; soooo probably yours xD

(Though I may mix some light brown acrylics with water, and apply it to give mine a more worn look too xD)

You could always try dirt. As well and varying heats of water. Maybe even burning it a little bit with an iron. It gives nice distress marks and darkened in splotches!

I think it would melt if I heated it, and on mine you wouldn't be able to see the dirt xD also, it isn't the strongest material, so it would probably break if I tried making it look worn by actually wearing it out xD
